History

Established in 1997.

Insight Psychological and Family Support Services was the original name for Insight Psychological Inc., which was established in Edmonton in 1997 as a partnership by two psychologists and best friends - Cory Hrushka and Sean Rogers. After 10 years of practice, Sean followed his desire to be a professor. Cory opened up Insight under the new name Insight Psychological Inc. in 2007 and moved the practice to a new space. He expanded the practice to include four administrative staff and 14 therapists. Insight grew again in 2017 and moved into it's current head office location at Ellerslie in Edmonton. Insight's team now includes over 10 administrative staff and over 25 therapists who service Edmonton and the surrounding area. Insight continues to grow and now also provides a valuable service to the cities and communities of Calgary, Red Deer and Alberta.

Meet the Business Owner: Dr. Cory H.

Dr. Cory Hrushka's main specialty is Sexuality (including the standard sexual functioning and couple related difficulties, as well as LGTBQPA and BDSM) with a secondary focus on violence related issues, trauma and couple counselling issues (including custody and access/high conflict). He is a certified (Diplomate) Sex Therapist/ and Supervisor, an Associate in Sex Education and a Clinical Sexologist. He uses numerous psychological approaches to achieve client success. Cory's foundation is in client-centered, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) within a systemic model that focuses on pushing through issues for growth and success which also includes Gottman methods and those of Schnarch. Cory is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Re-processing (EMDR) techniques for recurrent traumatic images and post traumatic stress disorder issues.
