After being on time for 18 years their customer service have been totally amazing. Never had an issue and if I didn't have an issue, they always took care of me. They always value my personal and business account, no matter how small is my business', they always treat me with respect, integrity, They're not always about signing you up for credit cards are giving you loan they always recommend and if they feel that you don't qualify, they'll tell you upfront before you do anything else, but they make every effort to help a customer out no matter what happen. They even guide you to rebuild your credit score in order to be able to get any type of loan, They are family-friendly, and I always feel comfortable and happy when I walk in there, and they greet me with my by my name. They are sooooo ultra concerned about fraud that they have totally forgotten about how their policies have adversely affected their customers. I recently had my debit card compromised and it takes a week to 10 days to get a new one. Why? Who can wait that long? They could not expedite it because my phone number changed just today! Then, when I got ready to retire a year ago, I paid off all my debts; car, house, credit cards etc. I did not realize that having NO debt would drop my credit rating like it did. Chase initially DECLINED to give me a credit card to rebuild my credit until my banker vouched for me telling them I had a high balance in my checking account every month since I had been a customer for 4 yrs. They gave me a $500 limit. A year later (never been late and paid full balance each month) they increased it to $700. Really????? You would think it was THEIR money instead of MY money in the bank. The first few months with them was hell. They declined my purchases right and left. When I called, they explained that they were getting used to my purchasing habits. They wear me out with their nonsense. Time to change banks.....

Well, First Green in its wisdom decided to merge with Seacoast Bank. With every merger there is a "winner" and it was Seacoast in this case. The First Green CEO and other executives no doubt received golden parachutes and bailed out, but a few First Green branches closed. Our local branch remained open but a few employees were let go and someone we knew was demoted as a Seacoast employee was rewarded with her job. Seacoast and this branch seem okay as banks go, though of course the Earth-friendly values, we understand, have slipped away, and it has lost the edge that caused us to sign on with them. It seems very empty in there now - no receptionist out front, fewer employees in sight, and I wouldn't be surprised if this branch closes at a later date. Turns out it was as all about money after all, which of course isn't exactly a shock or anything, but must be sad for the remaining First Green employees.

I have gotten to know a few of the tellers and they are friendly and efficient. They also know me, as evidenced by their "buzzing" me in through their security door when they see me. I tried a different branch and they wanted me to take keys out of my pocket, and then who knows what else they would have wanted, but I let them know I would go to my normal branch instead, thank you very much, and left without making it inside. So anyway, the organization is happy with the services of United Southern, and I am happy with this particular branch.

A few months ago, they let someone steal about four hundred thousand dollars out of one of my accounts. I did get the money back, however they told me it was my fault because evidently, I am supposed to watch my account daily, to make sure someone isn't stealing it out of their bank. Last week they sent a wire transfer to the wrong company in China. Of course, they expect me to wait a few weeks to get it back. Do not use this bank. Unless you like arrogance and incompetence.
