We also used HomeAdvisor to which we found Everett's. Many of the contractors we called never came out when they said they would. Many of them who did show up, never fallowed up, or even had the courtesy to call to say they weren't interested. Everetts was one of the three who did come back with a bid out of a dozen or so. When Josh came back with the numbers, he mentioned that we may what to throw our attention to our 20+ year old roof instead of the porch. We knew the roof was on it's last leg of life. So we shifted our plans to do the roof instead of the porch. So we called for a couple more quotes, Everetts came in the lowest for the same amount of work. In fact one roofing company (with fancy uniforms and nice new trucks) gave a quote $500 more and didn't include ridge vents, 40% more on any replacement plywood. So I had Everetts do the job and we decided to add on new siding. So now came the end of Summer, and we decided to go forward to add the porch. We got Everetts quote and another contractor's quote, who was nice enough to call back. We ended up with Everetts again, so glad we did. Josh Everett had his Forman James Eastridge do the work, from the roof to the porch. James is a really experience carpenter, polite, and professional. He also has a crew of the same character. Reasonably priced, and with one other person, got the job done in a few days. Just waiting for wheels to make life easier! lol ***Update: BUYER BEWARE:*** March 2026 I am having huge issues with the panels and gates, that Tanner installed. The panels aren't staying together, there are several gaps, the gates sag so bad they're pulling panels out of the posts and can't be opened easily without lifting the entire gate. Accordong to my neighbor this fence wasn't installed correctly at all. Contacted this dude to come out and fix it, and got the run around, once again. Always has excuses and is either the most unhealthy dude on the planet, as hes always sick, and has the worst memory or he's just completely unprofessional, which is where I am tending to lean. Either way, he's blown me off several times and I can no longer, with good conscience, recommend him or his work. Oh yeah, and the wheels... he could have told me 6 months ago he wasn't going to do it, I could have fixed the issue myself. He all of a sudden didn't have the "right wheels for my fence" and I needed to purchase them for an additional couple hundred dollars, but couldn't mention this before hand when I initially contacted him about the damn wheels.... its NOT about the wheels, its about how he handled this whole situation.

He took measurements and before he left my house, I had a drawing and very good quote for the deck I wanted to have built (half the price of another quote I received). A few short weeks later, The Deck Man team was on time and ready to built my deck. Robert along with two of his workers were able to get my 10'x20' deck with two sets of stairs and railing built in a total of 18 hours over a few days. Yes, they build EXCEPTIONAL fences, but…read moredon't be shy to ask if they also can tackle a variety of other odds and ends, like: two-story laundry pole removal, stump removal, two-story tall tree limb removal, BEAUTIFUL CUSTOM GATES, you name it! And their pricing is very reasonable, too! Our backyard neighbor hired them to remove their old privacy fence, and install (honestly, I'd use the word "CRAFT") a new privacy fence, with cap and band. When they were only on day 1 working on my backyard neighbor's fence, I asked if by chance they could remove an extremely large two-story metal laundry pole behind my house (see pics). They said absolutely and they could do it later that same day, and they gave me an unreal price to do it. Mind you, I have asked many other handymen, contractors, etc and all have said no (liability fears?). They even went above and beyond to ensure the base of the pole which was stuck in a humungous cement block, was filed down and bent inwards well below the ground for safety. Then, we asked about removing a partial privacy fence and long chain link fence, and install of matching neighbor's new privacy fence, to include a trash can corral with a gate going in and a gate going out so we could roll cans directly out onto driveway and down to street, as well as two other entry gates (one on each side of the house). They truly listened to each and every detail of our needs without a single hesitation, and understood everything we envisioned. As soon as they wrapped up my neighbor's fence, they went right to work on ours, then a few other neighbors who saw the work they were doing! Their work is just phenomenal and the crew is beyond professional, courteous, and respectful. Their attentional to detail is superb, and they ensured they left each day with everything secure and clean. Could not recommend this company enough, and it's great to know I can and will call them for probably any type of handy-man thing around the yard!
