She is detail oriented and has a great deal of practical experience. She gave us wonderful advice as well as encouragement. She has a delightful personality, is enthusiastic and fun to work with as sellers and great also with prospective buyers and their real estate agents. She has a personable team that schedules everything and kept us well informed about what was happening. Additionally, Catherine has a number of contractors who are very good at what they do, reasonably priced, and keep open spots so they can be scheduled quickly. They were scheduled by the team so that our job was hassle free. We are grateful that selling our home turned out to be a positive experience, a successful financial event, and a worry-free time thanks to Catherine. We highly recommend her.

I have used this Windemere office to purchase a home in the past with no issues. This review is…read morespecific to a sale where Sherry Grimes of Windermere Poulsbo was the buyer's agent. We sold our house through another agent and started experiencing unusual challenges about 10 days into the process. Reports of the buyer's agent (Sherry Grimes) being rude and abrasive with our contractors. For instance, as the seller we paid for a pre inspection. We repaired all major issues that came up. Our inspector offered a complimentary 15 minute telephone conference with the buyer if wanted. Sherry demanded that the inspector come out for a walk through. When told of the charge she told hime that "she wasn't paying for a damn thing." Additionally she demanded that the inspector be present at a specific time and date - even though he was booked and was only given two days notice. Her reasoning for this is that it was prearranged with all four parties - except that it wasn't arranged with us or our agent (who was out of town.) During escrow she sent an email saying that our request for a specific closing date left her client feeling hijacked and was of no benefit to him. The email was very confusing as the buyer sat at our dining room table and chose a closing date with us that would benefit us both mutually. Her client was later scolded for meeting us - we invited him to meet the neighbors of our very tight knit community. He later instructed her as to a closing date. Two days later she sent out this untrue email. It was laughable as we all knew the genesis of the decision. These untruths caused tension and stress with our agent because until this moment we did not know where all of the miscommunication and untruths were coming from. The irreparable damage it caused to our relationship is inexcusable. There was no need for any of this in a completely transparent transaction. Two weeks after this transaction finally closed, we received a mass marketed postcard in the mail of our former home. It was sent from Sherry Grimes at Windemere. It read that she SOLD the home and it was a solicitation for more listings in the area. When does a mischaracterization become a lie? She represented the buyer - yes. She did not SELL that house. I did talk to the managing broker. Poulsbo is too small of a town for this behavior. As the buyer's agent, she did have the job of working for her client. While she may have thought her actions were in his best interests, her actions were bizarre and caused damage - in addition to costing us additional money. As the seller we paid her contractual commissions, so we feel like we have the right to bring these issues to light. It will be over my dead body that I allow a friend of mine to do business with her. There was just no need for this.

She always did what was right for both sides, legally, in any situation. There were things we wanted fixed that she tried to get fixed, but the owners said no, so her hands were tied. There were certain important things I kept pushing for and she kept trying/asking for us, to eventually get a compromise. Honestly, I can't say it enough, the owners were awful people, Tereia made the whole situation a million times better. Any time we saw her out in town or when I would call her for something, she would always ask how we are doing, how everything was going, etc. She is extremely professional and straight forward; she definitely won't lie to you, and will tell it to you how it is. When it's the person managing the house you are living in, that's what you want is honesty. She is always on her texts/phone so I never had a situation where I felt like I couldn't get ahold of her, which was fantastic. If I left a message, I heard back quickly. Kelli, who works with her, is also the sweetest, so we had a great experience with both of them. All of the money and paperwork was handled correctly and professionally from start to finish, which is very rare for a property management company. I have rented several times in California, and something always got screwed up, or they always try to steal part of your security deposit with no explanation. That never happened here, we knew where our money was going, what was coming to us, and everything was documented. I hope we never have to rent again, as we just purchased a home, but if we did, I would be going to Tereia to make sure she was managing my rental. Now that we are out of our rental house, I have texted her for a couple things (mail/documents/etc.), and she's still always there for us, which is so nice! I can't recommend her enough! Edited to add - I was definitely not the tenant of the previous yelp'er with the 1 star review and damaged house. We left our rental in better condition than when we received it, and the owners knew it too.

We tried to buy a house that was listed by Gabrielle and it was a horrible, HORRIBLE experience. We have bought a number of houses over the years and even built our own. Never have we been treated so poorly, let alone like scum of the earth like we were by Gabrielle. Due to her behavior, we strongly suspect that she never gave our initial offer to her clients. We really liked the house so we countered her nasty attitude with another offer. Her response that we would have to use a lender of her choosing. Are you kidding me? Who gets to tell me what lender I can choose? Again, we really liked the house so we ignored this nasty woman and resubmitted our offer with the high value earnest money she was demanding. She probably never bothered to give this full price offer to her client, either. I feel sorry for our agent and the team who had to deal with the worst, most unethical human in real estate. To top it off she is belligerent, nasty, and ridiculously unprofessional. You could tell that our agent's office was worn out on this woman without them having to say a word.

Teri Hewson is the man to call for all your Real Estate needs…read more My wife and I met Teri when he was the listing agent for a property we were interested in. We didn't buy that property (thankfully) but we liked Teri very much and really appreciated his professionalism and depth of knowledge regarding Real Estate. When we found another property we were interested in, we called Teri first so that he could show us the property and, more importantly, he would be become "our Realtor". Over the next few months, Teri faithfully and patiently showed us a number properties and each time he displayed the same calm, steady, informed and professional demeanor we'd come to expect and admire. We finally found a distressed and short sale property that required an incredible amount research, negotiation and leg work. Without even the slightest hint of stress or exertion, Teri showed us he definitely has the necessary "can-do", the experience, the professional relationships with other Realtors and local tradesmen to make the seemingly impossible, possible. Teri Hewson is very clearly the type of Realtor that gets his loyal clients "the old fashion way", he EARNS them. Teri Hewson is still "our Realtor" and when we recently needed solid advice and a positive recommendation for a property related issue, Teri once again proved he's the man to call. Thank you Teri!

This is a review for Penny's Property Management…read more I wanted to rent a house in Poulsbo, and it was being managed by Penny's Property Management. The representative, who shall remain nameless, was lazy and slow to respond. That was my first clue. I emailed and called about the house available for rent (which had been available for three months) and didn't get a response for four days. When I asked to see the house at 8 am, the representative told me she couldn't do 8 but 10 because "She didn't get out there that early." After seeing the house, I immediately went home and filed the online application. The online form did not give me a receipt or a confirmation of my filed application, nor did it remove the listing from the website, leading me to believe anyone could file an application (and pay an application fee) while others were doing the same. That's a little fraudulent if you ask me. Anyway, I also called the representative and told her I'd filed the online application. Normally when you file a rental application you hear back right away. This was not the case here. I heard nothing for days, though saw the transaction for my application had been charged to my account. Needing a place to live once I moved out, I secured a rental elsewhere, emailed Penny's Property Management (through a Craig's List email address as there isn't an email address for Penny's on their website!) and told them NEVERMIND. The next day I get a voicemail from the representative telling me I didn't make enough money and needed a cosigner for the rental. She'd only seen one stream of income and I have two. She misread the application, and didn't get started on it until DAYS after I filed it and heard nothing from her. If they were this unresponsive when I was trying to pay the money, how unresponsive would they have been if the rental needed a repair, hmmm? No thanks. I'll never work with Penny's and I urge anyone considering it to run. They're slow, lazy, and will not have your back in a crisis (as can happen with rentals).

AVOID AT ALL COSTS,…read more I would highly discourage anyone from renting from this establishment. I specifically created an account just to let people know the one star reviews are completely accurate. I will not recommend this group to anyone, even strangers. They do not tell the truth on a consistent basis and will work against to on everything that is on the lease and fixes to the rental unit. You MUST document everything with this group. You MUST keep everything in writing, and you MUST not listen to anything they tell you verbally. This is not how businesses should operate, but they seem to thrive off of it. If you have no other choice and must use this Organization of TWO people.... (It's only two) Look for property elsewhere. It is not worth any of the trouble when they work outside rental law of Washington State.
