Me and my husband both had appointments yesterday, March 23, 2026 at 2:15 pm. We got there signed…read morein and sat down. One of the women, if you want to call her I that, called me...my husband and I both went because I have had a stroke and we just want to be sure I understand, she begins to tell me that since I haven't been there in so long, BTW I saw Dr Sims in August, I would need to update my provider, I ask what do I need to do..,and she printed out a paper with another Dr's name on there. I asked her what this was and she said this was the provider name and it needs to be changed. I ask if there's a phone number I can call she says it should be on the back of your insurance card. So me and my husband go outside to call. The woman on the phone asks questions about what needs to be updated. We tell her and she asks to talk to someone at the desk. My husband gives the phone to Sylvia, who by the way is and always had been very rude and condescending, Sylvia talks to her a few minutes and hands the phone back to me. The lady on the phone says Dr Sims name can't be updated because he is no longer my provider and hangs up. I then ask Sylvia what do I do next. She then, in a loud voice says, do you expect a visit for free, well we're not going to do that. My husband left to go use the restroom. When he came back he asked me what did they say I told him and then he went to ask Sylvia what was said and she said, go ask your wife she knows! So me and my husband talk, I need to see Dr Sims because I need prescriptions refilled. So my husband asks Sylvia what an office visit costs, he pays and then my husband and Sylvia and the other office people all get into an argument. He tells them they have all my insurance information why didn't they update the information before I got there. Than one of the women said I was lying...That really made my husband angry and he told her she was the liar and said the "B" word. Sylvia said it was the patient's responsibility not theirs to call the insurance. Then we finally get called back after waiting an hour. I was crying and so upset that my BP was through h the roof. Brittney, Dr Sims nurse, asked what was wrong so we told her what had happened and she said we were not the first to complain and probably won't be the last until they change the people at the front desk. She also said in their type of work they need to be happier, empathetic and or sympathetic. So we talked for a while, by the way, my husband's BP, O2 and temperature was great, I was the one with off the charts BP. Then Dr Sims came in and once again we told him had happened. The front office "people" need to be replaced. They are always rude and act entitled. If the office was trained sufficiently, you would find that the patients would be much happier. Get on this Dr Jafaar, it's your clinic do something that will help and keep your patients!

I wouldn't go to Bandera Family Practice Clinic to have a boil lanced. They are incompetent. I…read morewent to them for a number of years, at least as many years as it takes to develop what I thought was a relationship, but never during that time was I ever seriously ill. They did bloodwork and renewed my prescription, messed up the billing, generally didn't have a clue what they were doing but as long as I got my prescription I didn't care. I've recently been very ill with COVID so I called for an appointment. The Dr. came out to the parking lot and listened to my lungs, said get to the Emergency Room you have pneumonia. That was the last time I ever heard from them even though the Emergency Room sent them all my records. They dropped me because they didn't want to be associated with someone who was really sick. If they did it to me, they will do it to anyone. Avoid these people at all costs because they care more about themselves than they do about the people they treat. That's not exactly being true to the Hippocratic oath. I doubt they've ever heard of it.

NO ONE IN THIS PRACTICE actually cares about the patient. NOT even worth the 1 star rating. If I…read morecould give ZERO stars, I would. There is absolutely NO compassion or concern for the patient. The front desk staff are cold and combative. We were on time for our 11:15am appointment and after waiting for 1 hour, the receptionist told us she made our appointment in error. After telling her that was not our fault and we shouldn't be punished, she said we could reschedule for 1:15pm. She also told us the appointments before us arrived late and were still with the doctor. Again, not our fault and we should not have to wait or reschedule. When we explained this was a follow up visit to being hospitalized we asked if we could see another doctor and were rudely told that Dr. Tucker would have to authorize that. When I asked them to do that, they said he was in an appointment and would not interrupt him. That's perfectly understandable, however, we explained to them that my husband's medication prescribed at the hospital was out and he needed a refill that day. They told us they would definitely get the meds refilled that day. When I said "great, let's do that." they said "You will have to see a doctor first." Realizing we were not getting anywhere, my husband decided to go back for the 1:15pm appt. Yet again, he waited OVER AN HOUR before ever seeing the doctor. During the appt, the doctor did not listen to ANYTHING my husband was trying to explain. Instead, he just prescribed meds that my husband has never been on before. After researching these meds, I find out there is a high risk of seizures in adults when taken together. If I could find out that information relatively quickly, you would think a doctor would know this immediately. Of course I had questions for Dr. Tucker regarding the entire appointment. I have left 2 messages for him to call me back, and have yet to hear anything. This practice DOES NOT CARE for the patients. I would highly recommend AGAINST going here for ANY reason, but especially after being discharged from the hospital and actually needing medical assistance. Dr. Tucker doesn't even have the compassion to HELP by returning calls.

That's not counting my out of pocket for office visits, prescriptions, vaccinations, etc.... So closer to $7500? Now, I pay $175 a month for my son and self with Cibolo Family. I also signed up for vision & dental through work and a HSA Acct ($100/month). I also got a basic Major Medical Policy in case of a car wreck or some other major medical issue ($30/month). I'm saving $425/month in premiums. And there are no deductibles (saving $3000/year). Also, I love that, when I call with an issue, I am almost always seen the same day. Blood work, basic labs are done there and included. And the one time I needed to see a specialist, Dr. Hodnett called to make my appointment (the next morning) and arranged for a significant discount of that office visit ( it was only $100- still saved $325 that month!). Plus, you get to know your doctor and visa versa. I love Dr. Hodnett. He's proactive. Actually listens to my concerns and has never made me felt like he was being dismissive or placating me like a child (like my previous dr in town did). And the entire staff - at both locations - are so wonderful! They're always pleasant, and have gone above and beyond to help get us what we need when we need it. We're about to start our 2nd year with Dr. Hodnett and CFM. I tell everyone to check them out! I'll never go back to big corp medicine.

Let me start by saying that I've known some excellent doctors, and have had a couple of…read moreearth-shatteringly bad experiences as well. Dr. Julie Reardon has surpassed my wildest expectations of what a family physician CAN--and is willing--to do. I think that's in part because she is a phenomenal physician and person, and I suppose the Harvard education and work with Dr. Andrew Weil doesn't hurt. I'll add that all of the folks in her office are equally as competent and caring. If you are contemplating a visit to Dr. Reardon, it's because you haven't been feeling as well as you should--probably for quite some time. Your insurance-covered doctor has run some general tests that haven't shown anything all that extraordinary; and while you may greatly respect your PCP as I do, you realize that time and budget constraints limit the ability to which they can explore your issues. You may have been told that it's your impending menopause, or your weight, or that you perhaps should consider antidepressants. This is the state of medicine in our current era of managed care, and it's nobody's fault. Sometimes it just IS. Know that, if you can afford her services, "Dr. Julie" will leave no stone unturned in helping you find that road to recovery. She's not one of those "vanity doctors" who will hand you creams, diets, and vitamins to make you ageless and extra hot...although feeling better usually makes you look better! She's a serious, science-based physician with an uncanny ability to relate the typically unrelated, and see the "big picture" of your health situation. In our initial visit, she caught on to trending issues I'd never thought of before, including a potential genetic makeup that leaves me prone to certain problems with mood and energy level that are exacerbated by stress...and I've had a year of that! She ran a gamut of tests after explaining the purpose of each one, and uncovered a problem so critical it was a wonder I even had the energy to get out of bed in the morning. I am no less impressed with our follow-up discussions. She has referred to another provider for an area outside of her realm, and also recommended simple vitamin and supplement changes that will do me a world of good. At the same time, she's not that earth-crunchy guru that's going to mandate that that you live on purified air and chants...hers are moderate lifestyle changes for real people living in our everyday world. Dr. Julie doesn't take insurance, but that allows her to spend true quality time with the patients who sign on with her. I will say that, for the fees involved, I feel like it's been a very good choice for my healthcare dollars. I am finally getting some solid answers as to why I've felt HORRIBLE over just this last year, and I finally feel confident knowing someone's got my back while I take steps to get better. I think there are a lot of docs out there who dream of having a practice like Dr. Julie's--and she has made that dream a reality. When I think about how quickly Dr. Julie started "cracking the case", and all the co-pays and labs past that never quite addressed my issue, I realize that I have now SAVED time and money in the long run. What's more...I could have gotten REALLY sick were it not for Dr. Julie and her findings. She very well might have saved my future from being...well, not so bright. Thinking about calling for an appointment with Dr. Julie Reardon? I say go for it...you will NOT regret it, and you have everything to gain.

It may be…read moretrue this doctor is one great practitioner, but there is no reason why she should nor be able to bill insurance. Read the oath again and think long and hard who you really help.
