The facilities are amazing, very top of the line and spotlessly clean. There are options for privacy in the changeroom and in the showers, which I appreciated (shower stalls are used and not a communal space). There is even a machine to wring out your bathing suit after a trip to the pool. The JCC is filled with little niceties like this. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool is a saltwater pool with a very cool children's area, and the temperature of the pool is perfect. I really like Schmoozer's Deli that is on the campus and right on your way to the gym (perhaps too convenient, it's very hard to resist their delicious carrot cake!). The Deli is a Dairy restaurant, which means they do not carry meat. They are Kosher, and no outside food can be eaten on campus. The quesadillas are especially yummy, but everything there is good in my experience. Even the coffee is decent, which is usually rare for a smaller restaurant that doesn't specialize in coffee. They have a ton of programs avail from cultural to learning to athletic for all ages. The Berney Theatre is located there, Gray Academy (Jewish private school for K-12), Aleph Bet Daycare, and a library. There is also a Holocaust Memorial and Jewish Child and Family Services are located there, too, the total area being called the Asper Community Campus that contains the JCC. There is ample free parking, and you can get a parking pass for parking closer to the JCC with your membership. My only critique is that their inclusion services are not the greatest. My daughter has a disability, and we found the inclusion programs offered were for much older individuals. We attempted swimming lessons for her and it was a disaster, the staff didn't seem to be equipped to deal with a non-neurotypical child. There are private lessons, but we found these to be too expensive.

Kickit Island Lakes: I was reluctant to enrol my daughter in dance due to the unacceptable…read moreexperiences of the prior year at Marquis at Sage Creek. However my child wanted to continue dance and so I did more research and I found Kickit. Everything that I found unacceptable at Marquis was exemplary at Kickit right from the start. First, the communication was timely and detailed. From my initial inquiries, to class information, to costumes, to year-end recital. The right amount of information delivered in a timely manner. No delays or repeated phone calls and emails required in order to get answers or find out information as per the other school. Second, ordering costumes was seamless. The school took accountability in measuring the students and once costumes were received they took accountability for the fit. The price point was reasonable for the 2/3 minute recital performance and were absolutely adorable. Third, the teacher treated all the children with respect. I didn't notice any favoritism and more importantly neither did my child. Fourth, though I had my reservations of volunteering at the year-end recital due to the harassment experienced at Marquis, the parents of my child's class asked if I would, so I did. Kickit is such a reputable school - incredibly professional - and the running of their year-end recital would exemplify this. All the volunteer information was communicated a week before the recital so expectations were known in advance and there was time for any questions to be addressed. The parents volunteering and staff members were incredibly respectful and courteous. I cannot speak well-enough of Kickit. I would highly recommend Kickit Island Lakes! Their is no question that this school respects their dancers, their parents and is incredibly professional! Congratulations Kickit for running such an amazing dance studio! I am thrilled that we found you and look forward to continuing dance with such an incredibly talented and professional team!

The studio is huge with two levels and many rooms, plus a large change room that includes the use of showers if you wish. The admin staff in there are very caring and will give you a tour guide of the studio if it's your first time here. I will say that you'll get more bang for your buck by talking with your instructor after your practice, as they'll more easily remember your face. The reason is that for classes like slow flow, yin, or deep stretch yoga, they're very busy and it's hard for the instructor to check every single student to ensure they're doing the poses properly. While those fundamental classes are important especially for a beginner, I highly recommend some of the smaller classes, especially yoga on the wall. Overall my experience here has been positive. Yes the hot yoga classes can get busy, but I find the 10 class/month pass very reasonable at $129.
