Note: This experience occurred during the COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020…read more It's a little confusing as this business is associated with two other businesses who when combined, their offerings, provided for an amazingly fast & professional FREE COVID-19 test experience. Logistics Health Incorporated aka LHI, OPTUMServe, and UnitedHealth Group provided an organized and easy process to register and receive the very next day, testing for COVID-19. It appears they have partnered with the state of California Health Departments to provide this free service. I went to: http://www.schsa.org/coronavirus/testing/ to locate and schedule my own appointment, the very next day; with no waiting which was nice. This is an official Stanislaus County California website in the division of Health Services Agency. Actually, I scheduled appointments online for me and my mother for the same day and same time; it was perfect! The testing was nasal (not for antibodies) and painless, unlike the previous COVID-19 nasal tests I've endured at a local hospital where it felt like they were probing my brain because the swab went up my nose so much. Ouch! Results are transmitted for you to your local health department which is good as we all need to be doing our part to test and stay safe and healthy and it helps with statistics. Once my results were are in, I was notified by email, you log in and can print the most professional and detailed letter reflecting the results which not only provide your test result to you but allow you to keep this for your records or provide it to an employer etc. It's in pdf format and looks professional. Your given more than one option regarding locations that also have the day and times of appointments available for selection. You select your appointment, answer a few screening questions, and are sent confirmation emails listing your time and the location of your test as well as your unique identification number which they will ask you for to identify you so make sure you take that with you. My mother and I went in and the results were to us in 48 hours. Initially, they said 4-6 days but at the site, they said 24-72 hours. I found the experience to be organized, professional, and swift. On the day of the appointment we waited no more than ten minutes and once inside, were swabbed and on our way no more than 15 minutes later. I loved this as waiting in line during COVID isn't one of my favorite pastimes. Social distancing was firmly in place and enforced. Really appreciated this. The location we chose here in town was the Rube Boesch Center, 275 N. Orange Street, Turlock, California. It's a Lyons Club. I was very satisfied with how this situation worked out. No long lines, no people sneezing or coughing or talking ridiculously loud on their phones or to each other, just a peaceful professional guided experience.

[NB These are NOT not antibody tests] The State provides free testing for all individuals who meet current testing guidelines, including those who are uninsured or undocumented. Individual testing results are confidential. I used the testing locator website provided by the CA Department of Public Health to view community testing locations, including sites operated by Verily and OptumServe. I scheduled an appointment at the site nearest me, at Grossmont College, by signing up an account with LHI and selecting the day and time that suited me. Arriving on time for my test, I found one person ahead of me in a well-managed, socially-distanced line. I waited about two minutes, and then was called into the testing area. Once I was checked in, a young woman swabbed my nostril - an obnoxious but painless procedure - then handed me some general information about COVID-19, and told me to expect my results in a couple of days. I'm 61, obese and have heart disease, factors that combine to make COVID-19 somewhat more dangerous for me than it might be for others. So I was surprised that when I tested negative, I felt disappointed. Had the results been positive, I'd have quarantined for two weeks (or longer, just to be sure), and assuming that I came through ok, I'd have continued to practice safe public interaction, but I'd have been relieved by the likelihood that I was protected by antibodies the virus left behind. Instead, nothing has changed, and I'm still nervous. Nonetheless, the testing process was simple, straightforward and free; the LHI folks did their jobs, pleasantly and efficiently; and my results were delivered as promised. California is well-served by this contractor. All of which is great, but statewide, these testing facilities are ridiculously underused. Testing enables public health officials to better manage the spread of the virus, and thus, to protect our communities. IF YOU'RE A CALIFORNIA RESIDENT, GO GET TESTED!
