I am new to fitness kickboxing, and I am hooked on it! I took a trial class last weekend, because…read moremy current gym is closing and I want to be able to work out long after this month is over. Believe me when I say that I have searched far and wide to find the right match with a new gym. The class that I took was the same length as the ones at my current gym (30 minutes). I took the class with the owner because I knew that she was recommended. Turns out that in the 30 minute classes, they are very fast-paced. I had a hard time keeping up, even though I got a great workout and loved every minute of it. The owner took the time to speak with me at length after the class was over, gave me information to log into the class app, and gave me the names of the other instructors who teach the 45 minute class. She then proceeded to explain to me that the 45 minute class has a warm up session and a cool down session. I was pleased when she allowed me to sign up for another class free of charge just so I had something to compare to. There was no pressure to sign up. In fact, I asked to see the membership options. When I stopped in and spoke to someone else a few weeks earlier, I wasn't told that there were options to purchase packs of classes. The owner showed me this option and said that many of the members purchase these class packs instead of committing to a 6-month of a year membership. This put me at ease because I have heard mixed reviews from this gym. She had me sold with this option. As I stated earlier, I haven't been doing fitness kickboxing for long, and want to give it a fair chance before I make the decision to either keep doing this or resort to home workouts (which I am not always as disciplined at doing). I left the gym feeling confident that I made the right decision in joining. I am actually looking forward to the next class that I will be taking next week.

Motivation High Energy workouts are the norm. They have every imaginable type of exercise equipment. There is approximately 25 heavy bags mounted throughout the facility. The trainers will work with you on individual sessions or group sessions. The trainers I have had the opportunity to sweat with are Kevin W. , Kelly M. , Miriam N. and Mike W. Even during the group classes they will take the time to assist or correct your actions to allow you to get the most out of the session. Every employee has an upbeat very positive attitude. Talking to you in a way that shows that they care about your success and want all of your goals to be surpassed. There have been so many funny moments and conversations that have occurred during my time at CKO. One that stands out was at the end of a particularly memorable workout I said to Kelly you know it's a good work out when when you are concerned about making it to your car . Of course I was kidding and don't be scared. All of the Trainers are Awesome and won't hurt you , just push you in a very good way. Your success is theirs.

I grew up doing Karate in the UK back in the '90s, before martial arts schools started pushing…read moreendless belt tests and charging families left and right. So when I came across Dante Rivera's BJJ Academy, it felt like a breath of fresh air. No sales pitch. No pressure. Just structure, discipline, and real mentorship. I had heard there were two main options locally--Silva's and Dante's. Silva's is known to be more "fun," but I wanted something with purpose. Our past experience with Master Park's Taekwondo was friendly, but confusing. Kids who could barely stay balanced were advancing through the ranks. At Dante's, that doesn't fly. I filled out the website contact form and got a quick response from Norma. When we showed up the next day, I expected the usual sit-down about pricing or discounts for paying cash (code for off the books), but that never came. Instead, Dante walked in, shook hands with every parent, and jumped right into class. What I saw was exactly what I hoped for: a balance of challenge, fun, and respect. My daughters (7 and 8) were pushed to think, focus, and move. I watched a girl struggle emotionally--Dante didn't coddle or ignore it. He guided her through, and she finished strong. That kind of moment tells you everything you need to know. There's discipline here, but it's not cold. It's real. Kids are expected to give their best. Parents were laughing as Dante cracked jokes--like threatening to lock kids in a closet or eat their feet. It's the kind of tough love that works, and the kids eat it up. After class, I asked the girls if they'd like to come back twice a week. Immediate yes. When I asked Norma what's next, she simply said: "Go home, talk about it as a family." No pitch, no hard sell. They didn't need to--the program speaks for itself. While we were there, I saw a dad bring his son over to speak with Dante about a tough class he had. Dante bent down, listened, and told the boy, "You can always come talk to me." That kind of care? You can't fake it. If you're looking for a place where your child will be challenged, supported, and treated like a real student--not just a customer--Dante's is it. We're proud to be part of this academy.

I signed up for a free trial class and I really enjoyed it. Before the class you fill out a waiver with your personal contact info so the club has it. After the class, there was no one at the desk to talk to, so instead of waiting around, I left and figured I would call another day or that they would reach out to me based on the information I had filled out. The funny part is, after the free trial class I wanted to sign up for regular classes, and since then, absolutely no one has contacted me back. I live about 30 min away from this location, but it is closer to me than other locations. Before taking the drive out there, I thought I would speak with someone about my questions over the phone or email. I first tried calling the business a few times and the line was busy. I waited, and called back and an answering machine came on saying they either had a class in session, or that management stepped out, and the best way to reach anyone was to go to the website and fill out the "Contact Us" form. I did that and included my questions about the membership. I received an automated response saying that I could sign up for a free class. It made no sense since I already took one and did not answer the specific questions I had about pricing and membership. There was a secondary email they provided, where you could ask questions, and so, I figured I would email it and someone would get back to me. Nope. I received another automated response saying that I should fill out the "contact us" form on the website, which I already did. Frustrated, I called back again and the same message played telling me to visit the website and submit an inquiry, with no one answering. After submitting inquires through the website multiple times on different days, no one has called me back in two weeks or reached out to me. They don't answer the phone at all. I decided to no longer pursue a membership here. I really don't know why the system is set up this way. How do they expect to get new customers if no one is there to speak with you? I am writing this review so maybe they take this experience into consideration and update their communication methods. They are losing business by giving people the run around! Also disappointed that no one has reached out to me after filling out the form with my information! I no longer want to sign up with them, but seriously hope they rethink how they communicate. Big disappointment!
