I am another dissatisfied Groupon customer with the Innerspirit Hair & Beauty offer. I have just returned home from having my Shellac manicure and pedicure. First of all it was a mission to get an appointment, as mentioned in the other bad reviews, I was also hanging on the phone, while the receptionist checked with someone for booking me in. The appointment I got in the end was one that suited them and not me, as none of the girls that work late are trained in Shellac. When I got to the salon I stood around for a bit waiting to be seen to, after a few minutes a customer sitting on the couch said to me it might be a good idea to take a seat, which I did and she told me about her bad experience with Innerspirit Hair & Beauty. When the receptionist came in she had a few customers to check in. The woman that checked me in seemed to be rushing around trying to sort something out, I heard the receptionist ask one of the beauticians if they could do a shellac treatment (which I assumed was for me), the beautician said she couldn't she really had to go, but in the end she did my preparation for my treatment and then I had a 15 minute wait in between my preparation and paint, as the other beautician doing the paint job was with another customer. When the second beautician came in to carry on the job I questioned why I was not getting the exfoliation and she said that the offer does not include this! I was not happy about this as in my email with my offer is said: The Deal Chip resistant shellac polish, includes shape, cuticle tidy, exfoliation, massage & soak off at a later date. Also, I was a bit miffed that one on the girls was doing the washing up of mugs and glasses in the hair wash basin. I can only imagine Innerspirit Hair & Beauty are struggling as a business and as mentioned in other bad reviews and are focussing on quantity, rather quality! There seems to be no thought that these Groupon customers could potentially be returning customers, IF they had a good experience!!! I only wish I had looked up the reviews for this salon, before purchasing the Groupon offer! read more

If I could rate this salon 0 stars I would! I don't think they have ever heard of customer service, it's disgusting the way they talk to people. I bought a course of 3 microdermabrasion facials on groupon and first of all it took 25 minutes on the phone to them to book them in.it was what sounded like a young girl who I spoke with.She went back to her manager to check the appointments we made every 2 minutes, it was a painfully experience. My first appointment never happened as I had a voice mail from the owner who said they ran out of crystals so they couldn't do it but if I come along to my next appointment on Sunday they will definitely have them in as they were being delivered on Tuesday.I drove from Portsmouth to petersfield for my facial toady. When I got in there there where 3 girls sitting in reception, they looked at me then carried on talking.After a minute of standing there I had to speak to them and say I was here for my appointment.One girl said 'oh yeah your here for your facial, as you can see we have no power so we can't do it' I asked her why they didn't ring me as iv had to come from Portsmouth and she said well if you have us your telephone number we would. I explained I did give my number as the salon owner had rang me the week before to cancel my appointment.She basically argued that they didn't have my number! She then said 'well we don't have any crystals to do your facial so we couldn't do it anyway' she was rude and there was no apologise given. I will not ever be going back and I am in the beauty industry myself and will make sure people know about his salon. It very much felt like because I had a groupon voucher I didn't really matter as they have got their money.they don't seem to realise that people may actually bok to go back after their vouchers are used! I visited this place on 4/5/12, but I will never be visiting again! I had a groupon voucher for a cut and blow dry. The place was small and not tidy, the lady who was on the front desk turned out to be the owner she didn't even greet me when I entered just looked and went back to her laptop, the young girl sat me down and ask what cut I was looking for I explained and she took me over the the basin the chair was dirty that was only the start of the problems, after washing my hair the girl started to comb my wet hair asking again what style I would like then once I had explained she went emm, ahh,err, ok I then said that she wasn't giving me alot of confidence to which she burst into tears, I did say that I was just happy to leave now even though my hair was soaking wet, she asked if I wanted the manager to cut my hair to which I said yes thinking I would get a brilliant cut but no! I have since washed my hair only to find the fringe is not cut straight, thankfully I have alot of layers so a bad cut doesn't show up too much, got to say this is the worst haircut I have ever had and bearing in mind i'm 40 that says alot! The manager hardly spoke to me whilst cutting my hair and to be honest I felt that they just wanted me out of the shop. The only offer of a tea was from the beautician who was there on her day off, not great service! They seem to have crammed everything into a tiny shop but forgot the quality not quantity aspect. I would have asked for a refund but to be honest at the end I just wanted to get out and try to forget I ever went there. Awful experience. Initially had a Groupon voucher and due to overwhelming demand had to wait a long time to get a convenient appointment. - Beauty therapist I saw was very sullen and moody and obviously did not want to do my treatment which made me feel very uncomfortable. - Was taken to a very small room with flourescent lights which were kept on the whole time no mood lighting or soothing music. - No explanation as to what was happening during each stage of my treatment so kept having to ask questions, which were reluctantly answered. - During treatment another customer was brought to the LARGE COMFORTABLE ROOM next door with her two small children who proceeded to run around outside in the corridor and kept banging on the doors. (I have no issue with small children, I have one myself and know it is difficult to make appointments for yourself if you have children, but personally I would not have taken my young child to such an environment where the atmosphere is supposed to be quiet and tranquil). - Groupon voucher was for 3 treatments made second appointment but when I turned up the qualified therapist was not there owner/manager actually asked if an UNQUALIFIED 'therapist' felt confident enough to do the treatment!! Had to rearrange appointment for an alternative day weeks in advance a wasted 20 mile journey with no apology. - Just before next appointment, was called to say therapist was off sick so could I rearrangeagain. Didn't bother. Would never use this salon again unprofessional at best, bordering on rude at times. Total waste of money and reported to Groupon. read more

Was given a Groupon voucher as a gift and was apprehensive after reading some of these reviews but thought I had little to lose (apart from a 40 minute drive to Petersfield!). This place is 2 adjoining tiny shop units, with no interconnecting door, so after checking in at reception (having been 'greeted' by three miserable-looking staff) I was led next door to the hair salon to have my mani/pedicure. The nail station was situated in the window so all the Christmas shoppers of Petersfield were able to observe me with my trousers rolled up & feet in a foot spa whilst my nails were done. The treatment was actually really good but I think the beautician had had a charisma bypass operation at some point. I tried to chat but was met with one word answers or stony silence, and the hairdresser left her client at one point, for a good 10 minutes, while she went and chatted to some passing bloke outside. When my treatment was done I was asked to walk upstairs barefoot to the massage room, which was icy cold and noisy with none of that lovely relaxing music playing, just the sound of lorries thundering by and general street noise. I would imagine you also get the aroma of the kebab shop opposite at certain times, but I was too early for that! Again the treatments (facial and shoulder/back/neck massage) were excellent but the facilities and surroundings are awful. They've tried to cram too much in to a small space, obviously to make money, but in my opinion they'd have been better to opt for quality over quantity and aim for repeat business. Well I too have to echo the other reviews. I bought the same groupon deal for a cut and blow dry. I had to sit and wait as all 3 stylists were busy with their clients and after 25 mins past my appt time, I spoke up. I was told they were very busy and they would be with me shortly. I only received an apology when taken to the washbasin. I wish I had just walked out, one of the other ladies even commented it felt like a doctors waiting room. I was deeply uncomfortable. It seemed like I had the junior cutting my hair, it wasn't sectioned off properly, it was uneven, not layered properly in fact it was almost the worst cut I'd had. And the blow dry finish was most certainly not the finish you expect from a professional hairdressers. Like a numbskull I didn't complain at the time, I was embarrassed and didn't want to cause a scene. But as soon as I got home I got my own scissors out to tidy up. If you do redeem a groupon voucher, make sure you ask for an experienced stylist. I will certainly not go back and the second visit offers I did receive went straight in the bin at the car park. read more

Went to innerspirit for Massage and Manicure and although I was pleased with the massage I felt that the girls who worked there were as miserable as sin. And the mani/pedi was just awful. I was shocked at the brands of nail polish they had, all very old and dated. The girl doing my nails missed big chunks of my nails and didn't even clean the corners afterwards. Then I couldn't even sit there to wait for my nails to dry as there was another client already waiting. The result: my nail polish was ruined. I was shocked they did not have the instant spray which I have at home surely a place that does mani/pedi should have that. I could see other customers were not happy with the fact that the place was so small and they had to be moved around loads, plus there was not toilet for the clients. The only toilet was upstairs in the massage room but if there was someone there having a treatment you had to go across the road to another hairdressers to ask to ude their toilet. Terrible atmosphere. Will not recommend or go back there. read more

I had a groupon voucher for three microdermabrasion facials. When I initially rang to book the three appointments I was on the phone for twenty minutes, the girl just didnt seem to have a clue, every date I asked for she had to go and ask the manager if that would be ok, do they not have appointment books? I was losing the will to live at the end of it. When I arrived for my first appointment I struggled to get in the door as someone was having a pedicure and was sat in the doorway, none of the stylists/beauticians even acknowledged my struggle to get in, especially the girl giving the pedicure, she looked at me as if I was in her way! . The owner didn't even look up she just carried on doing something on her laptop. The place has much too much going on in there, I think the emphasis is on quantity rather than quality. The actual facial was ok, but I feel they can't really be bothered with you if you have a groupon voucher. I feel the management need to look at their training practices. Don't ever go to this salon!!! I'm another Groupon customer and wish I had read these reviews before booking my appointment. I had the girl who'd only been there a month and clearly should NOT be colouring head. My request for mid/dark-brown all over with 2 warm highlight colours resulted in pinky/ orange hair dreadful and this was after a 20 min discussion where she looked quite confused. The cut was style-less and my 5 year old could have done a better blow-dry. After 3 hrs and 40 mins I left feeling stressed, miserable and quite stunned. I echo all the previous comments about the unprofessional atmosphere. There was loads of background talk about shifts, time sheets, squeezing in booking all controlled but who I guess must have been the owner. If you have a voucher don't use it because you'll end up spending more going to a good hairdressers to get the damage put right!!! read more

Had a half head of highlights and cut and blow dry with a Groupon deal. I would second what the other reviewer has noted. The staff were completely miserable and unwelcoming and spent most of the time complaining about their jobs, the hours they were working, how disorganised it was, all very unprofessional and making for a very uncomfortable atmosphere. Whilst there 2 other customers complained about the service. I have ended up with the worst hair cut i have ever had and blotchy colour. The girl stated she had only been working there a month, I didn't feel she really knew what she was doing. Couldn't even comb and section my damp hair properly, i ended up doing it myself. Couldn't do a proper blowdry, I had to stop her cutting it in the end. Left looking a mess. Avoid. read more

I visited the Inner Spirit salon as I had a Groupon voucher for microdermabrasion. The initial deal was for three treatments. On my first contact with the salon I spoke to a very polite and friendly member of staff and was given an appointment that suited me perfectly. The place was not hard to find and I was welcomed by VERY friendly staff. My treatment was excellent and I was made to feel VERY comfortable. I have since booked three more treatments as I was so pleased with the results and the excellent customer service. I had different therapists conducting my treatments, Molly, Keeleigh, Cara and Lorraine. All were extremely friendly, informative and very conscious in ensuring I was comfortable. I would DEFINITELY use this salon again and recommend to anyone. read more

I recently went to Innerspirit using a Groupon deal to have half a head of highlights, conditioning treatment, cut and finish. All I can say is FANTASTIC!! DO NOT listen to all the negative reviews, the staff were all very nice, helpful and professional. Kara, my stylist, is lovely very friendly and she did a great job with my hair. Recently I have been very disappointed with some hair salons I have been to and was not happy with my hair but I was so so happy with what Kara did! I love the colour and the cut and will definitely be going again, even though I live in Bracklesham near Chichester. Next time I will get my hair done and have a few beauty treatments! I have been to Innerspirit many, many times and have always received a warm welcome. Tina and her staff are friendly and professional at all times; nothing is too much trouble. I regularly have my hair cut there and the advice I have been given about style of cut and colouring has been exemplary. The holistic treatments I have enjoyed have been excellent and, yes, the premises are small but the imaginative use of the space is to be admired and it is a truly WONDERFUL experience when you visit. I have decided not to book into this salon after reading all the reviews. I've purchased a groupon voucher and would rather lose £15 than risk a bad haircut with terrible service. Thanks to everyone who's posted comments. The fact the owner/manager hasn't responded to one negative comment (although has 'thanked' someone for the positive feedback) leaves me feeling less than confident. I shall book an appointment with Rush salon in Portsmouth, and pay full price for a guaranteed great haircut and excellent customer service! I have been using Innerspirit since December 2011. I started as a groupon customer & have returned to have different sorts of treatments there & have never had reason to complain or not return. All the staff have been helpfull & friendly. Tina, the owner has done treatments herself when there has been staff ilness, she has never let me down or been rude as some people have suggested on this and other sites. Visit inner spirit for the 1st time and it was very welcoming and the staff was so polite and they couldn't of been so helpful, would recommend this to any 1 as the cut was spot on and I couldn't pick any fault with it. It was my first visit to innerspirit and i must say, the staff are warm and welcoming from the minute i walked through the door. i was offered refreshments and then seen too straight away.
