In keeping with my pursuit of a healthy lifestyle, I've recently gotten into Olympic weightlifting…read more Sadly, along with this new hobby has come an injury or two, so in comes MSK Clinic. I visited the clinic in person to book my first appointment. I let them know what I wanted to have looked at, then they promptly scheduled me in with one of their available doctors. They appear to have enough doctors on staff that finding openings isn't the hassle it often is. During my first appointment, I let my doctor know that I was experiencing some knee pain. I further explained that I couldn't quite pinpoint the causal event. After some short conversation about the type of pain, where it was located specifically, a discussion of what activities would aggravate the injury, and direct stimulation of the area, she was able to identify the cause and explain to me in approachable terms what the injury was. But what good is a diagnosis without relief, right? The first treatment started with some massage therapy to the knee and surrounding muscles. She then made use of a "shock therapy" machine, which is a tool used to rapidly impact the injured area, thereby breaking up scar tissue. What I'm told is a "class four" laser was used to stimulate healing. Importantly, she also introduced me to several exercises, meant to strengthen associated muscles so that I could avoid a similar injury in the future. To be honest, after the first appointment, I didn't feel much difference if any, but regardless, I gave it a second go, and thank God I did. We essentially went through the same procedure again, and as if by magic (but actually science) I felt zero pain by the end of the session. Sadly I'm not Wolverine, so this complete relief was temporary, but the progress was undeniable. All in all the experience was very positive. I should say that I've never been to see a chiropractor prior to this experience, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. That being said, I think they do fine work here, and I'd be happy to recommend them.

When you are hitting 30s, small injuries tend to be a lot worst if you don't do anything about it…read morewithin a week. My recovery process is no longer as fast as it used to be. I sprained my neck on the Go Train (yes on the Go Train, can you believe that?!) prior to my business trip and I felt very uncomfortable. My whole neck, shoulder and upper back were so tight. Thank god I found Dr. Choi and Dorothy Ho! Dr. Choi is a chiropractor at this clinic and she knows her stuff, a few shock here and there with the machine (I don't have a science background!), massage and neck adjustment really eased the tension a lot. She also teaches you a lot of stretch moves to strengthen the impacted area so you feel better quicker and prevent future injuries better. To help speed up the recovery process, she introduced me to the RMT that works at the clinic also, Dorothy Ho. Dorothy Ho is probably one of the best massage therapists i had, the initial visit assessment was very detailed and once you lay on the massage bed just a few push here and there and she already knows which area is tight and require a work on. She did my whole upper back, shoulder and neck so well that I felt a lot better the next day despite the soreness. Overall, MSK clinic is very professional, clean and client oriented! This will now my go to place to get my massage and chiro treatments! Make sure you call to make an appointment in advance!

I had some issues with going to the bathroom and I always thought doing kegels was the right thing (as social media hypes it a lot). You really need to get a proper from a physiotherapist to tell you what's right and not right for you specifically. Turns out, I had to do a different set of exercises because my muscles were too tight and doing kegels would have given me the opposite effect. Thank you so much to the staff at Markham Pelvic Health. There's plenty of parking on the side right outside the clinic - and it's free!

I had Brian walk me through why I was experiencing the pains and soreness in my back and neck and he gave me exercises and simple lifestyle changes that I could do to help prevent the soreness from coming back. Brian understands how to take preventative measures when it comes to sports as he is an athlete himself. He has done the iron man, triathlons and marathons so he gave me great tips on how to prevent injury to my upcoming marathon run. I had originally gone in because I had sharp pains shooting down my neck and into my back. I was able to walk out being able to turn my neck without any pain. A day later, I'm feeling better than yesterday as a result of the massage. I HIGHLY recommend this place, and recommend getting Brian. He is highly knowledgeable, very well experienced, and I felt he desired for me to get to a healthy place. There was no pressure to come again, but I know I will be next time I have any soreness! But book early as Brian's schedule was packed at night!

She genuinely cares about her patients and does whatever she can to accommodate in order to give her patients the best care. I love that she is trained in multiple practices providing a complete treatment plan. She is also keen on keeping up with the latest research which I appreciate as things are constantly changing. She is also super patient and takes the time to answer whatever strange questions I come up with through my obsession to Google everything. After all, everything you read on the internet is true ;) I'll admit I used to think these types of treatments were a little hokey in the beginning but the thing I find the most amazing about my visits is when she tells me what I've been feeling before I tell her based on my pulse and a couple of questions. She's made me a believer. I've also been to multiple acupuncturists and I actually feel the difference with her. My overall health and well being has drastically improved since I began treatment with her. And Andrea at reception is also amazing. Always on the ball and super friendly. Highly recommend Balanced Living!
