This is an excellent institution, with fabulous and collaborative therapists who care deeply about each patient. While I don't have an eating disorder- I came to Inner Door for couples and individual therapy for general anxiety and stress. Renisha (or Rae) rocks! They also have lots of interesting classes! I was in a very fragile mental state & was recommended to one of the Dr's that support this clinic. I called to make an appointment with that Dr. & they neglected to tell me that he doesn't actually work in this office. They told me that I had to see another Dr. in the practice first which I thought was odd since I don't have an HMO but in my state I just accepted what they were saying & made the appointment. When I arrived I was thrown off because the lobby had Yoga info all over the place & a very outdated cold feeling waiting room with a rickety wood bench for 2. I met with a woman called Dr. Melissa who I later found out is a Social Worker & not a Dr. of any kind & while our therapy session was fine I wasn't sent to the Dr. I wanted to see, she asked if I wanted to start seeing her weekly & I told her no. I was very confused by all of this as I had made it very clear when I made this appointment that I wanted to see the other Dr. A couple weeks later I received a bill in the mail saying I owed $125 even though they told me before I came in that my insurance would cover it. After phone calls to this place, my insurance provider (where I got the phone number) as well as directly to the Dr. I had wanted to see it turned out that this place was a clinic that specializes in eating disorders & they should never have even seen me to begin with. According to the Dr. I wanted to see (he's the advising Dr. for the patients here as they can't prescribe anything) this place should have given me his number right when I called & said I wanted to see him. I also found out that my bill had been ran wrong & I didn't owe anything so the bottom line is, I felt like I had been taken advantage of in my fragile mental state. They gave me the run around, told me I "had" to see Melissa, billed me an extra $125 & then when I called to ask why they gave me the run around they blamed me for not telling Melissa I didn't really want to see her. I was able to get an appointment with the Dr. I wanted to see but due to summer vacation I had to wait 5 more weeks when I probably could have seen him right away when I tried & got sent here. It's been a couple weeks since I found all of this out & I'm still upset about all of it so this Dr. is going to have his work cut out for him now!! read more

I am being over charged by almost $400!!! I paid my co pay every visit and our deductuable was already met but the billing department says all payments are going to earlier ove rdue payments. I have all the bank statements that match with the dates i attended along with my insurance charges and coverage. like several others have said here they will take advantage of you and the fact that you need help and OVERBILL and ignore it all together. I did have the best therapist but luckily he left to go on his own. This company is awful and should be so ashamed for adding to those already going through so much pain. SHAME ON YOU! read more

I was at a loss for my daughter who has bipolar, eating disorders, self harm and many other issues. They saved her life, she began to let go of her perfectionism and her issues with body image, and began to accept herself as exactly the lovely girl she is, after her time at Inner door. She told me so herself, it made a difference to a struggling person and she in the drivers seat now. My son goes to see one of the therapists for anxiety, and looks forward every week to these sessions. I cannot say enough about the quality of the people and their compassionate and healthy approach to helping people. Thank you to all at Inner Door. read more

If it were possible to give Inner Door less than one star, I most certainly would. I spent four months in the eating disorder treatment program in 2013, and the entire experience was unhelpful and even damaging to my mental state. Throughout my time there, though I was forced to refeed, the group and yoga-based therapy failed to help me face the body image issues associated with my eating disorder, especially during the process of refeeding. There was no doctor on staff to monitor medication daily (or monitor possible medical emergencies), leading to two trips to the emergency room due to my over-medication. Even more ridiculously, the center attempted to charge me for the days I missed while I was in the hospital due to their negligence. My personal therapist was far from experienced, and the quick rate of staff changeover threw everything off balance. I do not know anyone who has "graduated" Inner Door's program in a better mental and emotional state than when first admitted. I waited an extended period of time to write this review, but my disappointment with the program and its staff has not diminished, and I feel obligated to share it with whomever I can. Please seek help somewhere where your needs can be rightfully met by a more experienced and understanding staff. Please don't be fooled by the supposedly revolutionary idea of yoga therapy for treatment. Please continue seeking help and guidance. I hope that whoever reads this finds whatever he or she truly needs to become healthy, stable, and happy. read more

While the therapists have been good while I was there, they leave quickly and I had to start over with a new therapist. I would not recommend the facility. I was owed a refund of approximately $180.00. It took me 6 months and several phone calls. The owner gave me various excuses and when she finally did pay me she sent an unsigned check! That was unacceptable. I should not have to fight for money that is owed me. I would research a more reputable facility. read more

Inner Door has been a nightmare for our family. They refused treat our daughter unless we paid in full up front because they said our insurance wouldn't cover it. We were desperate so we agreed. They then proceeded to bill our insurance company directly without telling us and kept the money. It has been nine months and they refuse to reimburse us. We are forced to get an attorney to sue them. It is hard enough to be in crisis without being victimized by the provider who is supposed to be helping your loved one and family. I find their business practices reprehensible and encourage others to beware of Inner Door. They are banking on the fact that your life is in turmoil so they can take advantage of you. Having to sue to get our insurance money is unbelievable to me. The emotional energy dealing with a child with eating disorders is hard enough. To be basically stolen from on top of it is more than one should have to bear. read more
