Don't buy passes or a gift for someone unless you know they will use it right away. My wife bought me a 10 pack of passes for me to try it out for my birthday. I just went to use it and they are all expired. Apparently you only have 2-3 months to use them. I tried calling to talk about it and no one returned my call. I began going to Inlet Yoga summer of '22 when we bought a home near Manasquan. I tried several different yoga studios and many different types of classes. I kept returning to Inlet for several reasons. First, the class times were consistent and fit my summer schedule. Second, their class offerings were varied in scope and difficulty level. However, instructors welcomed everyone, regardless of experience to every single class, offering modifications, use of props etc. to make the practice accessible to all practitioners. There is no judgement at Inlet Yoga, no pressure to push yourself beyond your capabilities. My third reason that I love Inlet is that the instructors and Jennifer, the owner, stay true to the practice of yoga in all of the 8 limbs. The practice is NEVER only about the asanas. There are always other elements woven into each and every class. I have learned so much from them! My next reason is the instructors. They are engaging, real, knowledgeable, friendly, respectful and fun. The instructors are always prepared and vary their sequences. Carrie's seasonal yoga classes ARE NOT TO BE MISSED- you have to experience these for yourself! Ellen's Move and Restore class on Sundays are a mix of vinyasa, yin and restorative poses. She offers detailed anatomical information about each pose - I have learned more from Ellen than I had during my own yoga teacher training. Yet, she does this so seamlessly and naturally, you never feel like you are being preached to. Jennifer offers classes that will challenge what you think you are capable of while simultaneously ensuring a safe space to practice to your individual needs- a delicate balance. Inlet Yoga has helped me find my practice again. After covid- I lost myself, my practice, my motivation. Inlet has helped me claw back to where I am more comfortable mentally, physically and spiritually. It is truly a community of mutual love and respect. read more

This is one of the best studios I have been to. It is incredibly clean and everyone is friendly. There is a variety of classes to choose from, whether you are an advanced practitioner or just starting out on your yoga journey. The teachers are incredibly mindful. All classes feel fun, meditative and real. You also can't beat the price. $325 for 6 months of unlimited yoga! And I feel like there is a time slot for everyone (although, I wouldn't mind a few 8 pm classes. Including yin yoga and restorative!). The teachers and the people who work there seem to really make an effort to remember your name, which makes you feel so welcome. It truly feels like a sangha/community at Inlet. This studio quickly grew on me. I went to three of their classes while visiting NJ and it became apparent that this is a tight-knit community of respected teachers. They offer convenient class times, were very inexpensive and I received expert instruction from teachers that clearly love what they do and continue to educate themselves via other studios in the area or NYC. The studio space is small, so arrive early in case the class fills up (one of mine had 30-40 people in there- most have between 10-20). It would be nice if the studio set up a better system for student intake, i.e. some cubbies for shoes, some form of lockers, etc. read more

I love Inlet Yoga and have been attending for 7 years, traveling 30 miles each way because it's the best in the region! Inlet offers excellent classes with good opportunities to attend for a variety of life's schedules. It also offers the best bargain of all the studios I researched in Monmouth county. If you are new to yoga, be sure to tell the instructor so you can get the attention you need for a safe practice. If you are experienced and looking for a good new place to expand your practice, try any/all the teachers to get a groove of who you gel best with. Teachers are human too and not everyone will "do it" for you and that's ok! It's your practice :) Inlet also invites guest instructors which is a good way to meet teachers you may not have had a chance to experience. And their workshops are great, too! read more

Love Inlet Yoga! I am new to Inlet and have found the yoga instructors and other students to be friendly and welcoming. The instructors are excellent and the classes I've taken have been great. The classes provide a good workout and get VERY crowded. It seems that, in the two classes I went to, teachers assume that all the students are in top shape, know all the poses (and their Indian names), and have no need of variations for back issues, etc. Also on a warm summer day, the air in the studio is hot and stale. No AC; the windows don't seem to open; and teachers are reluctant to turn on the fans. This makes it hard to breathe, not to mention uncomfortably hot and sweaty. I've been to this studio several times and purchased a 10 pack last year. When I purchased the 10 pack I specifically asked if there was an expiration date and was told no. Since I don't live down here full time this was important to me. I arrived today and they told me that my 10 pack had expired and that there was a new owner. She just looked at me, shrugged her shoulders and told me that the policy was a 6 month expiration. Terrible customer service. I go to yoga to relax and found this annoying and stressful, I was unable to to enjoy the class. read more

I had a bad faith dealing with this business, which is very upsetting. I reflect this on review to let anybody know that if you find yourself in a situation where there is a conflict, the business is not going to give you the benefit of your bargain. As a yoga studio, it seems like a decent place to go. But if you are someone with any sort of conflict that needs a resolution, they do a piss poor job of it and seem completely ignorant of the consequences of their actions. Yoga - fine. I have been a part of the Inlet Yoga family for 7 years now and it really is my home away from home. Since the beginning of my yoga journey as a student and now a teacher, the Inlet teachers have been some of the best I have had the privilege to learn from, grow with, and make friends with. I consider Margo Teicher, Tim Shaw, Jeff Seymour, Carrie Godesky, and Serena Soffer very special influences and inspirations to me and will forever be grateful for the knowledge and love they have passed along from their years of experience, and most importantly their authentic teaching. After traveling around the world taking different yoga classes from experienced teachers, it is always great to come back to the Inlet teachers.
