Even after she was placed Kyle still continued to help provide information that we needed even though his job was done - we are so grateful to him and this business!! It would've been such a stressful thing trying to find all the different locations in town and figure out their prices and try to find out how to go tour them- he did all of that and showed us as many as we wanted and always had a smile! Thank you so much Kyle we are forever grateful!

I use Senior Living Consultants, eight years ago for my dad and now I called them again for my mom…read more It's was still a wonderful experience Senior living Consultants their staff are so kind, compassionate and understanding of what our family was going through they are the experts on all of these communities, here are on the Central Coast. They connect all the dots to find us the right place for my mom. They got the medical paperwork, ordered physical therapy, help me activate my moms, long-term care policy. My mom was the spouse of a veteran and they helped us with Veterans benefits as well. They are such a special group of people.

Did a 3 week stint here, was transferred after spending a week at Sierra Vista. I was going through…read morecancer treatment, and was trying to do everything on my own*: I was living alone, driving myself to appointments, doing all my grocery shopping and errands, etc. As the chemo built up in my system and I lost my appetite and sense of taste, I kinda stopped eating, which caused one of my daily prescription meds to build up to a toxic level. My body and brain shut down, and a welfare check called in by family got there just in the nick of time! Everyone at Mission View was so wonderful to me. Very special and caring folks. I took advantage of every therapy offered to me: physical, occupational, speech, and cognitive. When I was admitted I couldn't walk unaided and didn't know what year it was, but when I was discharged I was almost back to normal which I think surprised everyone! The food is fine. Eat as much as you can if you want to be released, you need the strength. It's a rehab facility, not a restaurant! Treat the staff with kindness and respect, and you'll get the same in return. They work so hard! I had a total meltdown one day where I was crying a lot and not working very hard in my sessions, and my therapists were so kind and gentle with me. My PT Tim let me sit alone in the courtyard with a cup of coffee for a while after our session, and my OT Stacy offered me a shower instead of working on more challenging activities. Nurse Rubi hugged me and assured me I'd be going home soon, because my brain was still foggy and I told her I feared I'd never get to leave lol. I could go on and and on, but in summary - if you're going there for a relatively short time to get strong again after an accident, incident, or surgery - follow the rules, respect the staff, eat the food, don't skip any of your therapies, and I can almost guarantee you'll have a good experience. It'll be tough some days, especially if you're used to living alone like I am, but you'll get through it. Stay positive! (*I'm staying with family now while I finish treatment, they're taking me to my appointments and making sure I'm eating well, so I likely won't end up in rehab again. I might stop by to say hello to everyone who helped me though!)

I have only good things to say about Mountain View. My 92 year old aunt was transferred here from…read moreanother rehab facility. It's an older facility, but the care and staff there more than make up for that. We found all the nurses and support staff to be excellent. They were all very attentive to my aunt, and did not hesitate to order testing to make sure that she was recuperating well. Her wound care nurse, Amanda, was excellent and kept me well informed of her progress. The social worker, Janice, was very helpful and made the whole process easier. My aunt's only criticism was regarding the housekeeping staff, it sometimes took hours to get their bathroom cleaned up (one bathroom is shared by 4 patients). I was very pleased with my aunt's care here & wouldn't hesitate to use this facility again.

And if yes, it was joked about (over and over again) who made the joke? And how high up the leadership chain are they? Are they regular staff? Are they Senior Staff? *I would ask how many physicians represent a majority of the residents. Ask for a name (s) * I would ask for an estimate of how many meds are passed in the AM med passing. *I would ask specific staff to resident ratios and how many days/ hours straight these girls have worked( And the PCAs do work incredibly hard) *I would ask to tour and meet with the Administrator, not his " right hand gal/ fellow Senior Staff" not the new CEO. Do a deep dive! *I would ask to tour the bottom floor of the 20 building * I would ask to spend 20 to 30 minutes near the smokers shed by the back gardens ( then I would do a surprise follow up visit a day or so later, just to make sure  I got a full picture) * I would ask about rodents, big rats, specifically * If it's the name "Christian" that drew me to the facility, I would ask to meet with the leadership ( Wellness Director, Kitchen Manager, Activities Director,, Bethesda House I would (hurry on that one)) I would interview them, ask them how their faith and values line up with ACCs promise to "Lead and care for our residents with a  christ centered lifestyle" I would always check individuals fb's, you know how this younger generation loves to just "put it all out there" *I would ask if any of those two glowing reviews came from a staff member, because I know that you really need to fact check all reviews, good and bad, that people put on the internet. * Lastly I would say, Hey, wait a minute! "Why aren't any of the staff asking these questions or telling the truth about and to the current administration?" Maybe they DID, and they're no longer employed with the company as a result!   If you're considering Atascadero Christian Community,  you should: *Do your REAL research. What  does it matter how beautiful the outside of anything is? Dig deep!!! * Just because something was founded on certain values and principles, do not assume they still hold them today. * And lastly, do not be blinded by titles like, Pastor, Professor, Dig deep! Your loved one depends on you and your level of research.

Having worked in and visited many senior care facilities, I had seen the wide spectrum of options available for my grandmother. I always tell people that The Yellow Rose Inn is the kind of place you WISH all elders had access to. Here, they are treated like family, in a ranch-style home where they have their own belongings around them and have access to a beautiful outdoor setting. They are able to live with dignity and grace under the watchful eyes of incredible nursing staff. It takes a very special person to be a caregiver to the elderly. What makes the Yellow Rose Inn so unique is the combination of highly skilled and compassionate nurses and staff who make it a true home. I can't say enough good things about them.
