He missed things the house needed including problems with the siding and the windows, and significantly underestimated the insulation needed in the attic. He also didn't include basic information about the furnace and in general did an inspection lacking in thoroughness. We have owned our own home for over 30 years and had been referred to this inspector by our realtor at a time when it was hard to find a really good one.

Hired Amerispec before I bought my house which was a big mistake. Their inspector missed several…read moreserious issues with the house (serious mold problem in the garage, cracks in the foundation etc). Several contractors who came to fix the problems were surprised that there was an inspection on the house before purchase. They mentioned that these are the kind of problems they see if there was no inspection on the house before purchase. Of course, Amerispec doesn't take any responsibility for their work and it's all in the fine print. In addition, a few months later, they tried to get me to sign up for an "additional service" to review the inspection report with their inspector for an additional hourly fee! Of course, I didn't take that offer and sent them an email to express my dissatisfaction with their work but didn't get a reply which is not surprising. I'll never use Amerispec again or recommend them to anyone. Stay away from this company
