I was traveling to Oregon for this install and spoke to Ryan on the phone twice. He sent an invoice and we set an appt time. I showed up the install bay was waiting for me and 2 days later a new 200hp outboard had been professionally installed and water tested. His lead technician Jason walked me through a very thorough tutorial on the differences and maintenance procedures from my old outboard to the new one before I left the yard. I highly recommend them for their professionalism and no nonsense approach to their customers.

I spoke to Tim and explained what I needed. He said they normally don't do much painting, but had someone who has been with the shop over 30 years that had a lot of experience over the years. He asked for some pics which I sent. He called me back the next morning and said they could do it. I really appreciated Tim's responsiveness and professionalism. I brought it in to them and explained I needed it back within 10 days. They were able to get it back to me in that time and the motor looks great. Tim gave me an update call during the process which I appreciated. The price was more than fair. Tim estimated a range of hours it would take and shared the hourly rate. The stove burners showed moderate use and cupboards still had stuff in them. This trailer had received zero attention from this seller on this inside! I was expecting the condition would be as advertised, as this is the picture he painted. Either he openly lied about the condition, or he did not know the actual condition. Either way, it was way beyond disappointing, and I was fuming! I tried my best to be professional and just tell him what I saw without spewing, and he did drop the price for us, but this did not make me see him as a reputable seller. You cannot change first impressions, and ours was and still is, not good. Would not buy from him again or recommend him.

Alec revealed more details--that pump upgrade on the commode. Yes, please. Anything else?" No need for extra lighting, 12 volt charging stations beyond the standard issue. Anything else?" Consider the tow bar and the extra battery if you envision.... Yup. We do. Good catch, Alec. You get the point. I came in asking the guy in the parts department what I need besides an impeller to get it running since I don't know anything about working on boat engines. I asked for the price of the impeller and part number so I could get an idea what it would cost me along with labor for having someone else do the work. I planned on buying everything at Stevens Marine until the guy walked away and said "I don't have time for this sh#%, shopping around for a better price." I wasnt even comparing prices, just making a note on my phone of the part number and price so i know how much everything will cost me. I am just trying to get a boat running that my grandfather built and means a lot to me. I wasn't trying to waste his time, just trying to see what I need and how much it will cost me. If you need parts from Stevens Marine, I would suggest trying their Tigard location instead.

I received a quote for a motor but the evening before I was going to pick it up the sales manager Pat calls and says that they no longer have that motor available and will not honor that price quoted. But give them a call and they'll see what else they can do, not at that price of course. I had spoken to the sales manager "Pat" just the day before and he verbally agreed that he would sell me the engine they had in stock at that price. When I called to discuss it with him he said they were putting it on another boat and would not sell it to me. From then on all he did was argue and insist I asked for a different length shaft motor. I know my boat, I know my motor & I know for a fact what length shaft I need and asked for, there is no way I would ever ask for anything different! Anyone who owns a boat understands this, that would be like intentionally asking for the wrong size shoes. He verbally acknowledged that he had agreed to sell me me the engine in stock and that he no longer would. He was unwilling to work with me in any way. I asked to speak to his supervisor, I verified that is the owner John. At first he said yes then he said no, he said that the owner did not want to talk to me. Pat said he is in charge and that is that. Apparently this is how they treat their customers, even if what they did is not "illegal" it's still bad business to say the least.
