I went in hoping for the best and things seemed at least standard/avg but in the end I discovered…read morethe billing had been really messed up and they had billed to a previous accident I was in and accrued a debt without letting me know--when I still had pip funds. Then my pip ran out and it was a whole year later. When the lawyer called to check in with all my providers , only then did they send me a bill for a very large balance. I called them to understand what had happened. Got the above story and asked them to hold themselves accountable for their billing mistakes. They insisted they would not take any responsibility--even though they had done the billing incorrectly and not let me know when it was initially refused (when I still had pip funds). So I wouldn't recommend them on a billing angle. In addition, I had Aubrey work with me and she made an adjustment to my neck that unfortunately I needed 3 sessions with my chiro to correct. I mentioned that the adjustment hadn't worked for me and Aubrey was defensive in response, so I just dropped it. After that I just stuck with going over exercises rather than having more adjustments. I actually wish I had overall just left and chosen a different place. I wasn't going to mention any of this but when they wouldn't hold themself accountable for their billing mistakes in anyway and want part of my bodily injury settlement which won't be that much and I really need for continued treatment I thought I'd write something so there is accountability somewhere. Update: One day after I wrote this review I got a call from the office that Aubrey wanted to offer me 50% off the balance. I appreciate her taking some responsibility towards an office error. I do hope in the future that this can be done without a review--for both parties involved.

I came in to this office with a specific recommendation for Aubree as she was ostensibly an expert…read morefor athletes. After one session I was pawned off on the new intern rather then dealing with the person I was coming in for specifically. Since I was paying cash out of pocket and it ended up being about $135 for a hour session. I obviously wouldn't be paying this for an intern. Especially since 15 minutes of each session was a unsupervised time fluffer of warming up on their recumbent bike, then 15 minutes of self stretching, oy vey what a bargain! Nevertheless I signed up for three more sessions only because the incompetent admin told me my insurance would cover the rest of the visits. You already guess what happened, my insurances said uhhh no. I blame PT for this not my insurance, their admin was wither incompetent of a fibber, likely both. Despite my depute with PT's head office they wouldn't even reduce my $700+ bill. My advice- get anything they say in writing, they have no compunction to tell you whatever suits them. In a microcosm this is whats wrong with our health insurance system. Overcharging and fibbing for suspect services to subsidize low payers. Also I noticed that most people there were older, out of shape people, with minor issues that were probably using PT as a social visit as it was free, free, free for them through their company insurance to hang out and get some attention for their minor aches and bruises. Meanwhile I'm overcharged through the nose and getting stuck with the intern, doing a bunch of trivial exercises at an inflated price, no thanks.

As a life-long weekend warrior (you can pry my youth from my cold, dead hands!), I have seen my…read morefair share of PT offices over the years. Like, I've lost track. The last few years have seen me collect shoulder injuries like merit badges. Are my shoulders the canaries in the coal mine, telling me to chill out? Maybe! But that's not the point of this review... the point of this review is to sing the praises of Proactive Physical Therapy's Gateway location. I want to specifically give a shout out to Jenny, who is one of the best PTs I've ever worked with. Too many times PTs will read the diagnosis from the doctor, throw you some exercises, and call it a day. Not Jenny! Jenny takes your injury on as her own personal mystery to solve and uses every tool at her disposal to solve the mystery and heal your body. She is great about listening and asking questions to understand what YOU think is going on, and then does her own investigation to dig in and figure it out. Everyone's body works differently and thus heals differently, and I can tell Jenny takes a personalized approach to each patient and is truly invested in helping you get your body back to where you want it to be. Big thanks to Jenny and everyone at Proactive Gateway who have helped get me back on my feet.

He did a very thorough exam and explained the ins and outs of what he was looking for and what I did and did not have. He then supplied me with "the exercises" and had me go through them thoroughly to make sure I understood them. I was on a time crunch and reception to therapist took this into account, simply from me mentioning the day before. It was a really great experience, I highly recommend them!
