Saw an ad for a two lobe piercings while visiting NYC to see family! Thought.... "Hey, why not!…read moreI've never had a professional piercing, it's the holidays!" And ended up calling to see if they had any appointments available!! Talked with Vic, and she told me to come in later that day!! So excited for me :D When I came in I told Vic I had taken an edible earlier before making the appointment and that I was going to eat dinner afterwards, and she made sure to give me a few chocolates so I had some food in my stomach so I wouldn't get nauseous !! She picked out the jewelry so it was ready before I got there, was super quick and very clear and helpful! It took about 45 minutes for a lobe piercing on each other :3 Extremely clean and nice shop!! Will be coming back when I come back to NY ! I found out the Vic, who did my ears, was the owner too so it was super wicked to get it done by a femme for my first professional shop visit !! All around great prices and great vibes ! Prices: 2 lobe piercings, with studs included, for 60. (Originally it's 120 but I found a deal she honored!) Saline Cleaning Spray for 10 Tip was 25 (20% of 120, make sure to tip your piercers!)

Funny how things work out. I was in the area to go see a tattoo shop. I went into the shop I…read moreintended to go to. I was greeted by the cliche young, arrogant "tattoo shop girl", you know the one, usually they have all the piercings, the sleeve, usually have one side of their head shaved and act as if they are too important to deal w you. Yeah, that one, she basically told me come back later. Anyway, I leave. As I'm driving around the block, I stumble on Clockwork Tattoo shop and there was parking right in front. I go in, I'm greeted by a slightly tatted dude at the counter. I tell him what I need done. He says, "let me grab an artist from the back", so I sit. Two min later he comes back and says "I'm sorry, he's just finishing w a client". I sit and think to myself, "I've never been in such a professional tattoo shop". As I look around, this place is clean and decorated with art and no flash. A few framed articles and not much more, a bit odd. Not two min later a young guy comes from the back, introduces himself as Joe (turns out to be the owner), I show him some work I want to have fixed. He says "yeah, we can help you out, but I'm booked for about 2-3 months", what am I going to do at this point? I say ok and I turn back to the dude that initially greeted me and begin discussing appt dates in November. Just then the phone rings and its a cancellation for later in the week. BOOM, it's mine. I go home and begin my search online to check out their work, one piece better than the next b I go back later in the week for my appointment. Everyone at this place is amazingly down to earth and professional. I had my first session of a cover-up done and I can't wait to go back. I've been getting tattooed at least 20 years and have been to at least a dozen different shops, this place is clearly top of the charts.

As such, I am no stranger to getting tattooed and rate my experience at Clockwork as fantastic. Working with Joe was a real treat, as he is a really good person and dynamite tattoo artist. To begin with, the shop is super tidy and clean. The staff is pleasant, professional and engaging. I didn't feel rushed or pandered to but I also walked into the shop with ideas in hand and was receptive to Joe's suggestions. I gave him my rough idea and he ran with it. He was enthusiastic and the entire experience was laid back and chill, it was like collaborating with a good friend who happens to be awesome at tattooing. In chatting with Joe while he was tattoo me, it was clear that he takes great pride in his profession. He has a light touch and the process, though not painless, was tolerable. I have a high pain threshold but at one point after 3 hours, my inner arm was getting alittle "zippy" which is code word for hurts like Hell. I powered through but what really left a lasting impression was that Joe apologized for the tattoo hurting and he knew it was uncomfortable. Clearly an apology was not in order as I had voluntarily paid this man good money to repeatedly jab an inky needle into the tender flesh of my inner, upper arm but it was nice to know that Joe was not completely desensitized to the discomforts of his clients. As far as the price point, I feel Clockwork's prices are very fair as Joe's work is specialized, visually stunning and top notch. If his shop were in NYC, he could command even more for his work. With a tattoo, it would not behoove you to bargain hunt as you really do get what you pay for.

Can't say enough excellent things about this place! Owner,…read moreDom, and tat artist, Rebecca, vibed with me immediately. Destiny shall I say? Felt like I knew them forever. Dom is incredible. He's so passionate about what he does and IMO an expert with piercings and what he chooses for the best of all when it comes to quality and beauty. Uses 14k gold to titanium. Diamonds and natural gems offered as well! Not surgical SS which contains nickel. (Most hospitals use titanium to fuse bones or secure replacements in our bodies.) Incredibly knowledgeable and tells you everything from start to finish. I was hesitant because of my own memories of piercing gun I was used to 20yrs ago versus needles, but I swear he is so exceptional that I will never go to another. He explains everything, super knowledgeable, can answer every question you have and uses the best materials. He is super passionate and is simply himself. Place is beyond sterile and not one piercing I chose has hurt for days like your typical piercing gun at "Claire's". It's reverse piercing where flat bottomed backing doesn't poke your skin as you sleep or hand hold your phone. You basically buy the tops to replace once inserted as opposed to traditional you remove backing and change your earring with this long post stabbing you in your head. He will even offer to change tops for you! Exceptional taste in beauty trends and will order whatever you might want from his suppliers that he may not have on hand at the moment. Follow them on IG! I'll be here forever if I really lay into this awesome review! I've already been here two consecutive days as of writing and brought my hubby for 2nd trip to have his ear redone from prior. I requested third appt and am excited to see new products he has coming next week before I decide on fourth. Now working with Rebecca for my additional tats! My review will not do them Justice, just come here and see for yourself! 10 stars if it were possible!

I initially had high hopes for my experience because I got along well with the artist and felt…read morecomfortable going into the appointment. Unfortunately, the outcome of my final tattoo was extremely disappointing. During the session, my skin was overworked significantly, which resulted in multiple scars. I have never gotten scars from any other tattoo. During the healing process I had an open wound in the center from my skin being dug into. There are also major inconsistencies in the black ink saturation throughout the piece, so much so that parts are fading out. The tattoo itself ending up not following the reference, as a lot of the lines are shaky, the center of the flower lacks definition, and the petals are not cohesive. I understand that tattoo artists can become exhausted, especially during long sessions, which is why I wish I was firmly told to come back another day. If an artist is too tired to give a piece their full attention and care, it would be far better to firmly reschedule for another day rather than continue working while fatigued. This experience genuinely impacted my confidence and how I feel about my body, which is really upsetting because my goal with tattoos is to feel more in tune with myself and style. Unfortunately, the outcome has led me to begin the tattoo removal process, which is both emotionally and financially stressful for me and is about to cost me a lot more than this tattoo.

The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and comfortable--you can feel the creative energy as soon as you walk in. Their dedication and artistry are on another level--the attention to detail, creativity, and care that goes into their work is unmatched. Each tattoo I've gotten here feels like a true piece of art that I'll be proud to wear for life. What I love most is how accommodating and kind everyone is. They make the process collaborative and personal, which really sets them apart from so many other shops. It's not just about getting a tattoo--it's about having an experience you'll remember. Avoid 7 Souls Tattoo and Body Piercing at All Costs!…read more I deeply regret stepping into 7 Souls Tattoo and Body Piercing in Fair Lawn, NJ. This place is not only unprofessional but shockingly unsanitary. If I could give zero stars, I would. From the start, I noticed red flags. While waiting, I overheard staff discussing whether they would clean their tools. This made me feel uncomfortable although I've made serveral visits in the past to this and other locations. Yuck!!! Erin asked Meagan if the tools were sterilized so she could work on another client, to which Meagan laughed and said she wasn't going to bother because "it didn't matter." This alone is horrifying, as proper sterilization is critical to preventing infections in a body art establishment. I initially came in to replace jewelry for my conch, 2nd, and 3rd lobe piercings because they required internally threaded jewelry. What unfolded next was a nightmare. Meagan examined my piercings and advised against changing the jewelry on my 2nd lobe because it looked irritated. However, at my request, they agreed to swap it for a longer bar. Erin, who appeared inexperienced and unsure, began the process but struggled significantly, causing me unnecessary pain. Meagan eventually had to assist her in removing my conch jewelry and helped unscrew the balls for my 2nd and 3rd lobe piercings. The jewelry replacement seemed fine initially, and I paid $102.36 plus a $10 tip. However, by that evening, my 3rd lobe piercing became painful, and within days, it began scabbing and bleeding--a clear sign of improper sizing or handling. I returned on Sunday to address the issue, expecting them to correct their mistake free of charge. Erin admitted the bar was too tight and should never have been used. However, I was still charged to fix their error. To make matters worse, they upsized my jewelry unnecessarily, leaving me with a bar I couldn't even use. The lack of professionalism was appalling, but the bigger issue here is the clear violation of New Jersey health and safety regulations: Health Code Violations to Be Aware Of: 1. Failure to Sterilize Tools Properly: * As per N.J.A.C. 8:27-5.1(a), all instruments used in body art procedures must be properly sterilized to prevent infection. The staff's refusal to clean their tools as overheard is a serious breach of this regulation. 2. Unqualified Personnel: * N.J.A.C. 8:27-2.6(a) prohibits untrained or unlicensed individuals from performing body art procedures. Erin's inexperience caused me unnecessary pain and injury, which could have been avoided with proper training. 3. Improper Jewelry Sizing and Injury: * N.J.A.C. 8:27-6.5(e) specifies that properly sized jewelry is crucial to avoid complications. Using a bar that was too short caused my piercing to scab and bleed unnecessarily. 4. Unethical Practices: * Forcing customers to pay to correct mistakes caused by the establishment is not only unethical but also unprofessional. The overall experience was a disaster. My 3rd lobe piercing, which was perfectly fine before visiting this shop, is now damaged due to their incompetence. The unclean practices I overheard, combined with inexperienced staff and improper jewelry sizing, highlight a lack of care for both customers and health standards. I would strongly caution anyone against visiting this establishment. I hope the local health department investigates their operations to ensure no one else has to endure such an experience.
