i'm 19, and a student. I walked in with bright blonde hair with routes. i asked to get my routes sorted out and to have natural tonnes put through my hair to make it look like a more natural bright blonde. i came out with brown hair and £70 down.
i was quite confident in indy when i asked them to sort my hair out and make it look more natural. when i told her what i wanted, she didn't come out with a colour chart and show me the colour that she was going to put on my hair, if she did then i wouldn't have gone ahead with it.
she put a colour 80 on my hair, which is a brown colour, and she put horrible stripy UNNATURAL highlights at the top of my head. where my routes are, it's now ginger. it's horrible, then they had the cheek of charging me £70 for something i didn't ask for. i went into o'neils (bar next door) and cried in the toilets for an hour. i was devastated, so i went back straight after sorting myself out and said i wanted to talk to someone, because i didn't want brown, which is what she put on my head. there was just no effort there.
i had a chat with the hairdresser and she also brought a senior out. they both said to leave it for a week and see whether i get used to it. i knew i wouldn't, but went home.
the next morning, i called them and booked an appointment a week later and told them that i will NOT be paying any more than i have already to sort my hair out, the woman on the phone said that was fine to not pay anything. i said i wanted it a natural blonde with subtle tonnes, but i have stripy brown and ginger hair. i was then confident that they'd sort it out for me after speaking to the woman on the phone.
2 days later from calling, the manager called me and said that he will talk to me at my appointment just so that they're all on the same page as to what i want, because that is 'company policy'. i thought great, finally i will have my blonde hair back and hopefully have it put right and what i wanted.
i turned up to my appointment, with no manager there. he clearly couldn't be bothered to get out of bed, as it was at half 9 in the morning, despite my strong feelings against the service i paid for, which i made clear to him on the phone, 'company policy', really?
the hairdresser who did my hair sat me down, and did EVERYTHING she could to get me out of the salon without doing anything to my hair. i stood my ground until she started to talk down to me and started to raise her voice at me a little bit, she got too firm and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. she thought that she was right, THE WHOLE of my family are hairdressres -my dad, my mum, my aunt and my nan. i know how hairdressers work with being brought up around hairdressers. the customer IS ALWAYS right, if i asked for a natural blonde and didn't get it then i should have it sorted. but, she might as well have told me that i was wrong and stupid. i know what i wanted, and i didn't get it, not even anywhere close. i wasn't being rude at all, i was only trying to tell her how i felt but felt like she talked down at me and was being really rude. i walked out without getting anything fixed.
i now have to pay more money to put my hair back to how it was. if i wanted to turn brown, i would have visited boots and brought a packet dye for £7, and not spend £70.
i can't stress enough how disappointed i am with the service. please, do not go here. i will never walk in there again and spend another penny in there. they don't listen to you, and they think they're right despite the customer's opinion. read more
