I hired IAQ to test my basement ceiling tiles for asbestos. Shawn Rankin from IAQ came to my house to do the job. When he came, he asked why I wanted to test for asbestos and I explained that it was because I wanted to get rid of the ceiling tile to investigate the extent of a crack on my foundation. He asked the kind of job that foundation contractors were proposing to fix the problem and he gave me advice on what do to and most importantly, what seemed to be over-scoped by the foundation contractors and didn't really need to be done. Shawn went above and beyond the asbestos testing job and gave me advice on what to do about the foundation repair. He also noticed that there was mold in the basement, provided me with a plan to solve that problem, and gave me direct links to various products. There was a smell was coming out of our basement and we didn't know from where its coming from. We did everything possible we could to clear it (duct cleaning, housekeeping, relocating items, etc) but never worked. We also experienced respiratory issues which we think is related to the smell we're inhaling while at home. It was a stressful situation to go through.
