I love this shop!…read more It's full of weird, random and quirky bits and bobs, and it is usually my first port of call when I am looking to buy a gift or present for someone. If you're a cat lover you are in for a treat, as there are plenty of cat related items in the shop, from lamps, to nail stickers and mugs! I spend a good ten minutes laughing out loud at a book of pigeons that was in there (who knew some pigeons could look so bizarre!? I probably should have bought the book; I'm laughing to myself about the pigeons now). There really is so much stuff in there, that you would have to spend an age in there to see everything. There are bits and pieces crammed into every corner of the store! My only qualm is that because everything is piled everywhere, there is not a lot of room to move! If there are more than 3 people in the shop or you are carrying a few shopping bags, you aren't going to last long in there.

Its window display is always eye-catching and draws you in. Once inside you will forget time as you browse around the many different and interesting objects inside. It is the perfect place to pick up a pressie for a kid's party or find something for grandma. Past the cards, toys and gifts they have beautiful and unique items for the home that are hard to resist. They are not overly priced either. Space is tight in the shop however and may prove too challenging for those with buggies or those needing disabled access. On the whole though an innovative shop that is a great asset to the town.

There is a lovely little kids section with classic 'British' toys such as wooden gifts and the good old traditional craft materials too. I did not give this shop a higher mark though due to the walkways being very narrow, it's very hard to walk through the shop without knocking something over. People in wheelchairs or who have buggies would struggle to get around and the staff seem to look at customers as though they are going to steal something.

They also sell great art and design books, cheeky wrapping paper and quirky greeting cards - which make it a perfect place to pick up last minute birthday presents and stocking fillers. As has been pointed out by fellow Qypers, there's not much in here that serves any purpose other than to look pretty, make you chuckle or keep you mildly entertained for an hour or so. As well as branded stuff, like their range of Moomin bags, pencil cases, purses and cuddly toys (which, incidentally, I find VERY freaky) and the obligatory 'Keep Calm and Carry On' merchandise that's absolutely everywhere at the moment, they've also got lots of quirky, novelty bits. My current favourites are a pair of wind-up robot salt and pepper shakers necessary? Not in the slightest. Hilarious? Totally. They epitomise the entire point of this shop funny, largely pointless and utterly brilliant.

They often do offers on seasonal plants and pots, and reward card holders can also earn money off vouchers. Sign up for the newsletter for even more offers. Over Christmas they have the most amazing selection of Christmas decorations and gifts, as well as real live reindeers to visit! All year round they have a great gift shop, perfect for picking up an unusual present. A great selection of locally produced food, and a great restaurant for refreshment while you shop. I really like it here but always end up spending far more than I should!

We always find something to buy for birthday/xmas gifts and the Heritage Centre just keeps growing! Fantastic ambience and fun seasonal displays. I have always found staff knowledgeable and very kind. The food is delicious and served promptly. Can't fault it - it feels like a good 'day ou't - especially on a murky winter's day.

Wickle has two stores in Lewes, one on the High Street, and one in the Needlemakers. Their store…read morein the Needlemakers sells menswear, but in spite of that it's probably my favourite of the two because some of the clothes are pretty cool. Amongst other things they sell flat caps, fedoras, beautiful butter soft brown leather journals and coin purses (£21.20). They also sell boys-y things like old fashioned mess tins and constructable cardboard dinosaurs. There is some cross over of stock from the high street store, for example with their own brand scents (£29.50) which come very tastefully packaged in plain glass bottles, save for a coloured button denoting which of their four scents is inside. They also sell interesting old fashioned notebooks at both stores. The high street store is larger, and has a café at the back, although it is also more twee. It stocks women's and children's clothes and accessories aimed at the mummies of Lewes. Saying that they do have some lovely things, and the cakes are very tasty. They certainly don't go in for the minimalism of other nearby shops like Flint and Adamczewski, and as a result it's a good place to go for a rummage if you are gift shopping.

Then they have two or three rails of fabulous women's clothes-all from ethical brands, all reasonable prices and all that great style on the go, chic comfort look that I love. Then you hit toys and kitchenalia- cake stands, milk jugs, wooden letters to decorate, soft toys and kid's clothes. Finally, at the back a big finale of white wooden tables-a cafe! Genius.
