Ok so I admit that the first time I went to Wilderness Club about a year ago I had mixed…read morefeelings... the setting was gorgeous but the staff was not very helpful. That was during COVID. Roll forward a year, and boy what a change! I have now been there twice in two months and even bought a piece of land to develop there, that's how much I love it. Here is what I encountered... First of all, I'm not a golfer. My family and I were looking for a break and vacation. The first time, I stayed at the main lodge. Accommodations were ok. Two queen beds per room with a bathroom. Four bedrooms per side of the lodge (two sides total) with a nice communal area in the middle that has a gorgeous fireplace, living room and dining table. I had to ask for my room to get cleaned which during COVID was a pain and they didn't seem to have enough staff to accommodate. Things have really turned around. The last two times I have stayed in cottages instead-- I highly suggest going this route! The bedrooms are just as roomy as the rooms in the lodge but they are full cottages with private kitchens and living rooms and gorgeous private decks that have dining table, BBQ, and jacuzzi. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are well stocked. The kitchens have everything I've needed to cook (minus food-- but the store is just a few minutes of driving away). Most importantly, you go there for the setting. It's special. The wilderness club is set in the middle of mountains, at the foothills of Glacier National Park... so much sky, lakes, nature-- there are deer and wild turkeys walking around. The setting itself is peaceful, quiet, restocking. The people there are friendly-- everyone waves as you walk by. The staff is attentive and bends over backwards. If you get to chat with the owners of the resort, you will see that they are passionate about what they are building-- a luxury resort in the middle of one of the most stunning natural areas ever. And they respect the land, the people, the setting. During the summer, there are tons of activities for families. When we were there last week, there was live music at the Club during dinner. And on Fridays they set up for movies in the meadow where they roast marshmallow and show family friendly flicks. Nearby is the town of Eureka (5-10 minute drive)-- which has a charming little downtown with old fashioned looking stores. There's a couple of stores that sell local produce and meats. I loved it so much I decided to buy a plot of land there. I want my kids to go back for years, to experience what it's like to disconnect each summer, to make friends and run around in the grass and fields. You will spend your days taking in the beauty, talking walks, leaving electronics behind. This is a place you come to restock your soul.

The room was spacious, clean, with a nice view, large bathroom area, and a fridge, coffee machine, and free water & assorted beverages. It was also in a building that was centrally located -- near the fitness area and across from the clubhouse which has the restaurant and the gift shop. The staff there was incredibly nice, particularly Brandy at the front desk and Tina at the restaurant -- they were helpful, friendly, and very efficient. The bar had a great beer & wine selection, and the food was delicious -- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A great experience all around!

The bar/restaurant was easy walking distance and the food was pretty good as well. The down sides were, the long term sites were pretty messy and almost a deterrent for myself. During my stay I saw two other Rv'ers arrive , sat for a moment and then pulled right out and left. It took almost two weeks before the trash can in my area was emptied though there were two large dumpsters not to far away. The sites were not numbered so I was even unsure where to park. I doubt it really mattered. My septic had no lid on it. I may stay there again but am uncertain.

Also new owners. Stopped in on a Thursday late afternoon to try a burger. The place was empty but it was because it was 4:00 and the dinner crowd hasn't come in yet. Our server was super friendly and we decided to get the burgers. Hubby picked the bacon cheeseburger and I decided on the kid burger because I'm a small eater. The burgers come with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion and 1000 island dressing. The meat was very flavorful and done to perfection. Fries crispy and delicious!!

The price was pretty reasonable and the grounds are very well taken care of. Many people have permanent sites here but they also have man sites available for people to book. There is a man made chlorinated pond near the middle of the park and a creek that circulates the water around the park so you can the sound of rambling creek from most sites. I believe you can also go swimming in the pond. The only issue we had with the pond was it was a bit difficult to navigate the park from our site to the washroom/shower building in the night especially since we weren't too familiar with the layout. A few accessible footbridges that cross the creek would be appreciated I think especially by those with mobility issues. Otherwise you may have a long walk to get your site. There is also a golf course attached to the park but we didn't have an opportunity to try it our or look at it. I heard that there was a putting green that park users could access for free though. The only drawbacks to the park is its proximity the the railroad tracks and the highway. They are both very close to the park. Close as on one side of the park so you have highway noise and train noises. If you are a light sleeper can't sleep with background noise then you may want to bring some ear plugs. We counted about 4 trains in one hour the night we were there. I am not sure how many more went by that night as the noise doesn't bother me much and I can sleep through about anything.

My husband loves a good round a putt-putt, so on a recent trip to the Glacier area, we knew this spot would be a must on our 'Father's Day Extravaganza day'. They have a few different options. You can purchase any of the activities A la Carte, or buy a pass that allows you to enjoy all of the activities. Our group of six opted for a mixed bag with some going for the pass and others taking the a la carte option. We did a group round of putt-putt which we all very much enjoyed. The course was fun and challenging. All of us also did the maze which was also fun--it's not about merely getting out, you also have stamps you have to collect on the way, which made it more of a trial. We were there on a pretty pleasant day in the mid-70s and the maze got pretty hot. I definitely wouldn't want to do it on a hot day--so, something to note if you're there mid-summer. Others in our group enjoyed bumper boats, go karts, and a unique basketball challenge. I would say the basketball challenge was the least enjoyed but everything else was a hit. If you're looking for a fun family day--this is your spot! Get to it!
