Also they were short servers and a cook . Someone is not communicating. It was our second attempt to eat there. The first time they were closed. We are new to the area so we are trying a new restaurant each week. This one is off our list for sure...just can't depend on the information given on the phone.

Staff was friendly when I called the day before ( told me about the small bucket and lunch for 10 bucks and the routing at the turn) and very nice at check in. Told me the lay of the land which was good. Starter really is not acting like a starter. No effort to pair up singles and it became evident as a single kept hitting up on us even though we were waiting on a threesome. Finally asked him to join us and he declined and also backed off. Driving range was horrible. Totally chewed up very few targets to hit at and no lie off of the short grass. Course conditions were just OK. Not as bad as I expected and they were working diligently around the course as we saw throughout the round. However I think their crew is pretty small. They were putting down something on the fairways. Hope it is safe for humans. The tees were pushed back and we seemed to be playing one or two sets of tees longer than we wanted. We finally just used our GPS to find the correct tee box based on the card yardage. There were issues with the fairways. No way to hide it. Also some greens had issues. They were slow and needed to be rolled and cut shorter. Deceptively tough course. The back seems to be in better shape. Play it before they fill it all in with houses

Service was terrible with a waiter who had no clue about the few things that were on the menu for that night. The side salat has to be the smallest one I ever seen. It was served on a tea cup saucer. Prime Rib actually had decent flavor but no horseradish sauce for it. Mashed potatoes out of the box and the Brussel sprouts were trenched in a Gorgonzola cream that was awful. The inside of the building is very pretty to bad the food and service wasn't.

They only care about golf and the course is in bad shape. They've had lame excuses for years, and cannot get their act together. They don't care. The pool is another after thought. Understaffed. It's not a country club; it's an old golf course and a highly outdated bar-restaurant, that is more like a seniors lunch place. It's more like an assisted living center, than a club. Don't waste your time or money here. The Great Outdoors is 100 times better with a golf course, a restaurant with a beautiful view and a pool. Much better prices than La Cita, better food and 100 times better snd friendlier service! La Cita is a has-been joke.

Rather than jump straight on a course and get frustrated due to being out of practice, I decided to head over to the Singleton driving range a few times each week to get some practice. Located on Singleton Avenue near the Arthur Dunn Airpark where lots of people go for skydiving, this range has your standard driving range set up (only ground level) with flags and buckets of balls you can purchase for pretty good prices. What makes this place stand out for me was the relatively new golf instruction provided by Tracy with FunGolf. My wife noticed that Singleton was offering a deal on a month of lessons and signed me up, and boy was it a great experience. Tracy is a certified LPGA instructor who has a fun little outdoor area setup with tunes going on in the background. She is great at giving you little tips and ideas for your game and will even record videos of your shots to help you see what to fix. Considering the unlimited lessons for a month deal, you can't really beat what she is offering. Overall, the Singleton Driving Range provides a great place to hit some balls. Whether you are looking for instruction or just want to have some fun with a bucket of balls, this is a great place to check out.

I walked into the pro shop and was greeted kindly by someone. They explained their automated ball dispenser. After that I was pretty much left to myself. Even though once I was done with my small basket which was plenty for an afternoon of driving the ball with several clubs, the nice gentlemen came out of the building and shared a conversation with me for about 10 minutes. He explained that the gentlemen who could fit your clubs and answer your questions is only there on the weekdays 9-5. All in all it was a good afternoon. The putting green is a little small with more than two or three people putting there will be a little bit of a jam up. Price is very reasonable. $8 for a small basket or $10 for a large. Definitely worth a few hours to go and check out.
