We also didn't see anyone to give tours or ask information. The park is easy to find with lots of signs pointing the way. When you pull in there is a visitor center that has a gift shop and restrooms. Everyone's favorite part was the parrot. If you say hi or dance he will talk to you. The park has trails you can hike. There are maps in the lobby to help find a course. They mentioned a cave trail but the map did not have trail names so we were not sure what path to follow. You can walk down to the barn and see the animals. We also walked around the exterior of the house. Behind the visitor center there is a great playground that the kids really enjoyed. If coming for a visit I highly recommend waiting to come during the peak season so you can view the house and have staff to explain the history and trails you can hike. Lots of picnic areas too so pack a lunch!

Coining here I was in and out in no time at all I'm not sure if it's always like that but on this given day it was definitely super fast as when compared to courts in other states I've lives in! The staff and the cops were both super friendly and helped me get to where I needed to go and got my paperwork done quickly so that was definitely awesome! They do have a rule of no cell phones inside so make sure you leave it in your car or another safe place! Also as the current strange era we are living in they are requiring you to wear a mask when you enter to help keep others safe! Overall it's a court house that you can tell has been here for many years and I must say it definitely was a positive experience coming here!

People are treat with respect and without judgement. They really seem to try and go above and beyond to help you achieve whatever you may seeking to do. Very kind people if i do say so myself.

I took a handful of pictures and just stood there enjoying the silence and the sound of the water and wind gently blowing on the mildly warm summer day. It's not really that far out of the way if you wanna see a covered bridge. And when I went, there wasn't much traffic on the roads both to and from the bridge to the nearest freeway. You will find this gem tucked away in the back corner of the Marion Cemetery. It was installed back…read morein 1896 by the Merchant family to mark the grave of their patriarch Charles Merchant. It consists of a large ball perched upon a stone plinth. The ball is made of Quincy black granite, which is not quarried anymore. The structure has smaller balls placed in a circular formation around it. Parking here is simple. You just pull up on the nearest driveway, stop and explore. The ball is polished to a shine with the exception of one spot. If you look closely, you will see a circular patch on the ball. That is where it originally made contact with the pedestal that it is sitting on. Rumor has it that the 5.2-ton ball has been slowly rotating somehow. Many have speculated the cause of the movement, including ghost, but there has not been a definitive explanation given to this day. The shifting was first noticed by the Merchant family who had the giant stone lifted by a crane and placed back in its rightful orientation in 1898. They also secured it with some tar. This is a neat unexplained phenomenon that is worth a visit if you are in Marion, just to say that you have seen it. Either way, do not go there thinking you will witness the ball revolving. It only moves a fraction of an inch a year. This memorial is not a large consumer of your time. I was there less than 5 minutes, so I recommend checking out the Harding Memorial, Veterans Memorial Park, the Merchant Memorial, and the Marion County Firefighter's memorial, The WWII Marion County Veterans Memorial, all with in a half a mile. Fun Fact: The structure was featured in "Ripley's Believe It or Not," in 1929 and there is a water fountain created in the likeness of the structure outside the" Ripley's Believe It or Not" Museum in Myrtle Beach.

What I found the most interesting were stories about his wife Lucy, the first to be referred to as the "First Lady" and the 1st, First Lady to be a college graduate. The tour guides were amazing, informative and shared many humorous antidotes on the Hayes lineage. I would recommend touring both the home and library.
