Indian Mahal is a lovely little Restaurant.
The decor is very homely. The tables are covered with red tablecloths overlaid with white doily like covers. Traditionally styled tapesptries adorn the walls and small porcelain elephants, bronze vases and other trinkets are carefully placed throughout the restaurant.
It does not have the slick and modern feel, all to common in the bulk of the redeveloped restaurants around town, and does not take too much traffic but I really like that about the place and it makes for an intimate dining experience.
The menu is primarily traditional Indian curries. There is a large vegetarian selection which I always feel makes for autheticity in an Indian restaurant. There is also a smaller selection of lamb, chicken beef anseafood curries.
The staff is very friendly and the food is quite good, although perhaps not outstanding. It is however, well woth visiting for a dining experience which is a little bit different. read more
