It is quite lovely with lots of mature trees and both the inside of the restaurant as well as the outdoor terrace are beautiful. The food was really amazing as well as was the service. It is highly recommended. If you like spicy food, you have a choice of German spicy or Indian spicy. I chose the spicy and it was perfect for me.

If you're ready to experience some different and great, take a chance. I so wish I would have remembered to take photos before we devoured everything. The butter naan is tasty, crispy and thin. Like all naan it gets cold fast so dig in! The saag paneer is spicy, dark in color, and a finer texture than I'd expect. Fresh ginger gives it some kick, and the paneer was perfect, The malai kofta opted for just two fried dough balls, much larger than normal and very tender in the center. Coconut sweetens the sauce to a near dessert-like flavor (European dessert not American). Great atmosphere and very friendly people. Perfect find at the heart of Göttingen!

The waiter and the cook understood my order and respected my request to have something NOT spicy. I love Indian food but normally it's so spicy that I can't finish it, and it's rare to find a place that serves wonderful food that doesn't burn my mouth. I had the Chana Masala and it was GREAT! The samosas were wonderful, too. I would also recommend the chai tea and the fluffy, hollow bread thing (I can't remember what it was called, so ask). The waiters were really friendly and seemed happy to have customers in the restaurant, which is refreshing to find here in Germany. I just saw that they also deliver, which is why the phone was ringing so often. The ladies room was clean and had new tiles and fixtures, so I assume the men's room was also clean. I would recommend coming by bus, bike, or taxi because it's so far away from the city center.

Unfortunately the experience did not improve. The dishes were amazingly bland. As the photos show everything looked great, but I truly have never eaten such lame Indian food. Hunger drove it down. Asked the waiter why the food was so bland, he said they cater to the German taste but would gladly make it spicier upon request. How backwards! Why not serve it properly spicy and have guests who don't like spicy choose bland. Or at least inform guests of this approach so they can say not bland please. Prices were high to top it off. Felt bloated and yucky afterwards. Too bad because the place looks great. Conclusion: I won't go again.
