Switching to Includ(Ed) has been the BEST choice we have made as parents. We have a son with Down syndrome who started here when he was around 8 months old (he's now 13 months) and we have seen the most significant positive change in his development and overall wellbeing. His teachers are specially trained and he has round-the-clock access to occupational, physical, speech, and music therapists who work closely with his teacher so they can incorporate aspects of their practice into daily lesson plans. His days are structured and our guy CRAVES structure - he loves it and he truly thrives in this environment because of it! Before we found Includ(Ed), we toured quite a few facilities that we just did not feel aligned with, did not feel supported by, or just got a bad gut feeling about. We ended up at a place where he spent most of his days propped up on a boppy with a basket of toys in front of him, and we noticed very little growth in him. At Includ(Ed) he is given the tools to learn, grow, and engage with his peers and environment. He is truly SO happy here. He greets his teachers with a big smile at drop-off every day, and if ever there is a break from school, we've noticed cues that he is sooo ready to get back to his school routine and community. He is always in such a good mood on school days. There is also such an amazing culture and community here. The energy is palpable and the support is unmatched - from staff and other parents alike. This is such an amazing place for any and every child to learn and grow - those with disabilities and those without. We have another little one on the way (as far as we know she is typically-developing) and we have already added her to the waitlist because we know there is nowhere else that she could possibly get this level of exceptional support. There is also so much research to back the benefits for typically-developing peers learning in an inclusive environment - a key one being higher levels of empathy. I cannot sing Includ(Ed)'s praises enough. read more
