The Bad: Even by Waterloo standards (a town of spoilt rich kids), this place is really overly pretentious, with snobby spoilt brats in polos with turned-up collars getting drunk, while their fake-tan, surgically-enhanced mothers and their sugar daddies eat in the restaurant next door. Dans ce réjouissant paysage, Winery fait figure de précurseur, cultivant depuis ses premiers pas ses différences. On ne prétend qu'elle fut le premier bar à vins de la capitale, mais elle fut la première à soigner le choix de ses flacons et la convivialité attendue pour les apprécier de la meilleure des manières. Winery, un lieu nouveau et différent autour du vin : le bar à vins s'y dédouble d'un espace caviste. Original dans son aménagement, l'espace intérieur séduit : éclairé, aéré, ouvert sur la ville côté bar ; rangé, accessible, côté cave. Tout aussi original dans son concept, l'endroit permet au client de goûter un vin avant de l'acheter. Chose rare, le personnel est formé, pointu et souriant. S'il le souhaite, le client reçoit l'information nécessaire sur la bouteille, le domaine ou l'accompagnement idéal pour l'assiette. Pour celui qui apprécie le vin sur place, la découverte est conviviale. A son catalogue, aux côtés de quelques noms confirmés, Winery en ajoute régulièrement de nouveaux, celui d'un ou d'une jeune vigneron(ne) inconnu(e)s que nous avons a envie de défendre. They have a fairly large wine list, with a decent sized list of wines by the glass. Food is available as well; small plate offerings. We ordered a bottle of wine, and were given a cup of breadsticks wrapped with prosciutto...yum!!! Also, we enjoyed their version of Bruschetta (see pic) served with a small green salad. This is a small establishment, you can reserve one of the 4 small intimate tables. Otherwise there is a small bar with 3 stools, and another small room with bench seating. If we lived here we would come here often. Can't wait until our next trip.

They are super nice and do not kick you out if you haven't finished your glass yet, but it would be great to have such a great place open 'till 10pm at least!
