My experience with Beacon Moving & Storage/ A1A movers by far is the worst. 1) First issue: I was giving a quote for about $2000 (from Beacon Moving and Storage) to move my apartment furniture from Orlando to Austin. The estimate is based on the list of all items I provided to the sales agent. After the movers (A1A movers) loaded my furniture in the truck I was told that I had double the square footage of items and the cost will about $4000 to move the furniture. I tried to reach the salesperson to understand why there is a huge discrepancy between the original quote and actual charge. I couldn't get a hold of anyone in the office and nobody return my messages. I was stuck and I had no choice but to agree to the new charges since I had to check out of my apartment that afternoon. Be aware, they intentionally give you a low quote to attract you, then once they know you stuck with them they really screw you. They are very professional in doing that. 2) The second issue: The furniture was delivered to Austin on a big 18 wheeler truck. The truck driver told me he can't drive the truck to my apartments complex and it's my responsibility to unload my furniture from his truck to bring it to my apartment. I was charged an additional $800 on top of the original $4000 to unload the furniture from the large truck into a small truck then to bring it to my apartment. 3) The third issue: Every single piece of my furniture was damaged after delivery (bed frame, dresser, dining table, coffee table, end table, tv stand, night stands, etc...). Now I'm fighting with this company about the furniture damage. I'm not sure if I can get any money back for the damaged items. My furniture was new and expensive. This move with this company is absolutely nightmare. I leaned my lesson, I would definitely use a reputable moving company (Allied, Mayflower, etc). They may seem more expensive at first but maybe they end up cheaper than the other guys. Honestly, I prefer to sell the furniture on my own for whatever price or even donate it to charity rather than giving the business to these guys.

However, upon arrival and unpacking our moving truck (after a 5-day moving halfway across the country ordeal,) we saw that there was damage to some of our things. Our couches were scratched up and stained, with fraying and tearing in some places. My husband's one-of-a-kind woodworking bench (handmade by a disabled veteran in DFW specifically for him) had a huge gash on the top from the movers piling things on it. (Even though we asked them not to.) After turning on our TV, we also noticed there was a vertical line in it. We had Samsung come out the following week, and they told us it was damaged from the move. We immediately reported the issues with the couch and woodworking bench to Aaron and sent him pictures of the damage. At first, he tried to skirt his responsibility, but after relaying the information to him again, he said he would file with his insurance. That was December 19th. When we confirmed that the damage to the TV was a result of the move and not a technical issue, we also reported that to him and sent him the technician's report. We have repeatedly asked him about the claim, and he either doesn't answer us or says he "filed with the insurance" and we "should hear from them soon." At the time of this posting, it is January 29th. We have contacted him repeatedly throughout the weeks while also giving him ample time to respond. My husband once again texted him this past Friday, and he STILL hasn't responded. I apologize in advance to anyone who read my review and used this business beforehand. Like I said, I am saddened that it has come to this. We will likely have to file a claim in small claims court, and we are looking into other avenues to have his poor business practices reported so no one else is left holding the bag like us. If he ever does decide to do what is right and have his insurance cover the damages, I will update the review. As of right now, we're out the money we paid for the movers and the money it will cost us for the repairs ourselves. I definitely do NOT recommend this business anymore.

They contacted me AFTER arrival time to state they would be late and to cancel my service because there were issues between them and U-haul Moving Help. They asked that I pay them directly, I reluctantly agreed. They arrived 75 minutes after they should have, brought no dollies, dropped items, broke items and scratched my floor (I'm a renter, my landlord is unhappy). Here is a description of the damage to the pieces of furniture damaged by their team. I have also provided a link to pictures of the damage and receipts for the costs of the furniture damaged. White dresser: The movers dropped the dresser, causing one foot to break and another to crack. Additionally, the dresser's corner was gouged, and the drawer slides no longer align, making it impossible to insert the drawers. ($839) White Headboard: gouged in the front center, scratch on front right side, support bar on back is cracked ($629) Other dresser: There is a gouge on the top and side of the dresser. Dining table: The table was scratched and deeply gouged in multiple spots when the movers stacked wrought iron chairs on top of it. The movers also stripped two bolts while attempting to remove the tabletop using improper tools. ($444.15) Dining chairs: Two chairs were scratched and gouged. ($200 [$100 each])) Photos, videos, and receipts for damaged items are available here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/5X1DJrLQDwW4UuUn7
