The ladies at reception are all very kind & professional. Gabby helped get us checked in this morning and was very pleasant & sweet to my little one. I appreciate how clean this facility is. The waiting room has plenty of seats, hand sanitizers & face masks available. They also have a TV playing kids shows to keep the littles entertained during the wait. I also appreciate that everything is in my chart if you're already a patient for CHKD & then the Primary Care Physician has access to the visit as well. I much prefer this urgent care over another due to their attention to children and warm environment.

If she had let me finish a sentence we could have avoided a time-wasting misunderstanding as well. I'm only giving this 2 stars instead of 1 because we were in and out quickly. Anyway, it had been a while since I had used the facility and the new name (now Velocity Urgent Care) is not the only change. You can check-in in advance of your arrival, which I highly recommend. Just go to velocityuc.com and select the practice from the list to get started. The practice has a number of doctors and PAs on staff, and I was fortunate to speak to Dr. Mahoney during my visit. He was incredibly helpful, had a relaxed approach and handled a minor surgical procedure with skill and care. The rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. I had to make a follow-up appointment and saw more of the same. I'm happy to recommend these nice folks to anyone in sudden need of a doctor.

Over the years my doctors have come and gone and even returned years later. It never seems to matter which doctor I see. I am well aware that this is a teaching environment and, as an educator myself, I find that encouraging. My son had an injured arm, we were checking to see if it was broken. I really love the screen that says when we'll be seen. That's really nice of you. Also really nice of you to have online checkin. Didn't know that until I got there, though! We were called back and didn't have to wait long in the exam room at all. Usually it takes forever for the doc to come in. He had his arm xrayed by Joey, who was really friendly and kind to my son. He did the splint & was on top of it and quick. I think the PA we saw was Tessa. She was experienced in pediatric ortho and she was confident about her stuff. When she told us it was broken, she was so encouraging to my son, "wow, you are so tough, I can't believe you are smiling and acting so normal," etc. She even put his jacket on for him before we went outside. I am also thankful the X-rays and referral went through the system & I didn't have to bring much with me. Just called the next day, made a casting appt at another chkd ortho office. Easy peasy. It was just a wonderful experience. I came because my youngest son several month ago hit his head on a fireplace at his gramma's house & they treated him for stitches.
