I thought I would give these guys a review because they were very good in repairing my LG OLED tv during a recent recall. Also the TV has burn-in issues that they are currently dealing with. They are quite prompt, courteous and appear very knowledgeable. Very satisfied. read more
Is it possible to give this place no stars? If so, please remove the one star that Ive given it! In fact Id like to give it minus stars if at all possible! I can never ever remember having to deal with a worse business of any kind - this place is even worse than the Cherry Bar (see my review to see what I think of it) and Id lean towards giving more stars to a restaurant which gave me food poisoning... So, what is wrong with this business? In a nutshell, nobody involved with the place seems to take any responsibility for anything there (with the possible exception of one acting manager). The background of this (ie why I was using them) is that my little boys put coins in the dvd slot of the tv and thus it wouldnt play dvds. When on the phone to discuss when they would pick up my tv, they said that the people would come out the next day between 10am and 5pm expecting me to wait around for 7 hours. They also didnt bother to tell me that I needed to take the tv off the wall for them. Then when they turned up late in the afternoon they refused to take the tv off the wall. My elderly mother was there as I had something else on that day - of course she couldnt do it. To take the tv off the wall was a 10 minute job which I did quite easily even without the best tools. The next day I called them and they once again said that they would be out between 10 and 5 and I told them that I have things to do and that they need to give me something specific and pointed out that it was their own fault for not telling me to take the tv off the wall that they would need to make another trip. They then said that mine would be the first job on Monday morning at 9.15am (it was a Friday when this conversation took place). Monday morning came along and they were not there at 9.15am. I called them again and they said they were sending someone out at 10.30am.... When the bloke arrived (late) he said that they were not allowed to take the tv with the bracket on the back either!!!! Needless to say, the lady on the phone hadnt bothered to tell me this either... So I took the bracket off myself there and then (took about 30 seconds) and the guy took the tv (but only after shaking it to see if he could get the coins out of the dvd slot which my kids had put in there - I didnt know that one could shake a flatscreen tv without wrecking it)... He also said that it would probably be covered under warranty - which I never for one second believed... I got a call later that day saying that the tv was ready and it could be delivered in the next few days (despite the fact that I live 5 min drive away). They then said that I would need to pay for it ($143) in advance. They refused to allow me to pay on delivery. To save having to put up with them and wait around for them any longer, I decided to go in and pick it up... I arrived at around 3.30pm and (deciding not to say who I really was) asked to speak to the manager. Of course he had "gone out for lunch"... I then told them who I really was and had to wait quite a while for the technician to come and get me and show me the tv. Finally after having to wait far too long he showed me through to the workshop. On chatting to him I found out that he was the acting manager and I relayed my numerous complaints to him - and to his credit he was very apologetic. While I payed for the work, he got someone to clean (wipe down) the tv and I couldnt help but notice (and actually pointed out) that she was cleaning it while it was standing up with about 2 thirds of it off the actual table! I wish I had just let her drop the thing and smash it - that way they may have just bought me a new tv.... although I assume something wouldve gone wrong there too.... Well I took the tv home and decided to test it out - I watched an hour long dvd and towards the end, there appeared to be problems with the screen with bright colours popping up and the dvd stopping at one point.... Was it the specific dvd or was it the tv itself??? Was it shodding workmanship? Who knows - stay tune for the next episode of "Impulse Audio Visual - wrecking havoc accross Melbourne's inner north west" read more

I echo the comments of others who say ... stay away! I bought a Hoover washing machine that had a problem with the bearing. These guys got the job to repair on 7 Feb. They called the next day and booked it in for 15 Feb. I had to be home all day. At 5:19pm on that day, their tech left a message saying that as it was a three hour job and he had another job in Mt. Waverley he wouldnt be able to make it and would do the repair on 21 Feb. Why would they not advise me sometime earlier that as it was a 3 hour job they wouldnt make it on the day??? Then, on 20 Feb, I got a couple of left messages and an SMS asking me to call them. When I was available at 5:20pm (around the same time they called me) I got a recorded message saying they were closed!!! I left a message. I then also called at 9:15am on 21 Feb, the day they were supposed to come and do the repair, and again, there was no answer and a recorded message. I again left a message. I had NO CONTACT at all from them that day. Two whole days wasted waiting. Then, on 22 Feb, one of the rudest persons Ive ever encountered rang me and continually spoke over the top of me. They said they cancelled the 21 Feb appointment because they could not confirm I would be at home...but they never communicated that to me. And then, even more unbelievably, they told me THEY DO NOT HAVE A PHONE MESSAGE SYSTEM. How can you puport to provide "customer service" when you dont have a messaging system??? Hoover then kindly offered to replace the machine so, thank god, I didnt have to deal with this company again. My advice ... avoid at all costs! read more

These guys are useless. Put a warranty claim in through Samsung who initially told me a technician would come and view the fault. Impulse contacted me and asked for photos of the fault, serial number and receipt. All of which were provided. I have contacted them twice since providing those pictures in which they responded stating they were waiting for Samsung. I expressed concern as a 3 year warranty period was about to expire. But I was assured because the claim was made inside warranty it would not matter when Samsung got back to them. I gave them space until today where I thought I would ring and get an update only to be informed the warranty claim was closed due to not being able to be contacted. They claim they tried to call and sent messages. I have no missed calls from there number and no messages except for early on in the claim requesting the pictures. The guy I spoke to claimed he would find out what number they called from and put me on hold. After 5minutes he picked up again and asked me how he could help. Then relised who I was and put me back on hold. Another couple of mins went by and a women picked up the phone asking me to hold. I stated I'd already been on hold for 10mins so please keep me on hold. A few minutes later she returned pretty much saying what the first guy did. I was not polite at this point. In fact when I heard my warranty claim was cancelled I was extremely angry. They didnt even tell me what number they supposedly tried to contact me from. As I said at this point I was extremely worked up and ended up hanging up. They are trying to tell me that's its Samsung policy to close a claim after 3 days of no contact. Even though I have no record of them trying to contact me and when I contacted them near the start of April was told they were waiting for Samsung to respond. I wasent sure how long this would take so gave them space. I forget how exact the world is and I should've been on there back more to avoid this happening. My mistake for being patient. They also claim they sent text messages when they tried to make contact I have recieved none since the request for photos. Samsung are now setting me up with different service agent as this has been a giant waste of my time. read more

Worst customer service I have received in a long time. They were 6 hours late for their appointed time. Despite this, I allowed the technician in. I told him what was wrong and the part I needed. After picking up the remote and trying to do what I said could not be done, he finally agreed and proceeded to charge me $115 before leaving with no repair actually having been made. When I attempted to contact the manager, the manager always seems to be out to lunch. This company screams DODGY and I am embarrassed to say I fell for their tactics. read more

Beware!!!! This place is a shocker!!! Worst company I have ever dealt with!!! I purchased a tv from Harvey Norman with a 4 year extended warranty, I have since had the DVD player replaced once and within 18 months of that repair the same component needed replacing again, the first time I dealt with Impulse Audio Visual that took 5 and a half weeks to repair and redeliver my television, now my television has been gone nearly 5 weeks again for the second repair!!! Have rang them 10+ times and they always end up telling me some crap!!! Parts are still on order we will contact you and keep you updated blah blah blah, only problem is they never call you back!!!! Ask to speak to a manager and they are never ever there????? One minute I get told there in tomorrow and they will call you, then I call back a week later, now the manager is overseas!!!! What a joke!!! Most s... Company you could imagine!!! Get your fu....... Act together!!!! One very unhappy customer that has waited over 10 weeks for 2 simple repairs to be made and stuck without a tv both times!!!! This company is a joke!!! What a disgrace read more

I recently purchased my first smart tv from The Good Guys and tried to activate the Voice Command but couldn't so I went back to The Good Guys who told me that I need to talk to Samsung which I did and they told me that I needed to purchase a Smart Remote and told me to ring Impulse. I ordered the remote and on picking it up I realised it was the same remote that came with the TV. Callan, whom I believe is the owner, spent around half an hour online checking if my tv actually had voice command and came to the conclusion that it did not. even Samsung told me that it did so I wanted to send the remote back but was informed that no refund was possible on remotes so I felt very dejected but Callan saw our situation and understood that we were misinformed so he pulled out his wallet and refunded the money from his own wallet. I was amazed that service, understanding and courtesy was still alive and I have no hesitation in recommending Impulse to anyone and will use impulse whenever the need arises. a huge THANK YOU to Callan. much appreciated. read more

Thank you! Impulse Audio Visual for your professionalism and outstanding service. Angelica whom I spoke with first was terrific. Informative, sympathetic to my problem, friendly and quick to organise someone to come out and fix the issues with my new television. Her cheery disposition, friendly voice and knowledge were a welcome change from previous audio visual companies I had dealt with. Louise Duong was sent to fix the problem. I was impressed by his punctuality, knowledge, efficiency and attention to detail. It was great to see a repairman with a smile on his face when I answered the door. Clearly this is someone who enjoys his work. Louise showed me where the problem was and what he was going to do to fix it. He was polite efficient and skilled. Thank you for your great service. If I ever have any issues with electronics, I wouldn't hesitate to contact Impulse Audio Visual. You are a wonderful company. Anthony Stead. read more
