This is a small hotel in central Plymouth, just off the Hoe, offering bed & breakfast.
The hotel is in a former admiral's residence and in a great location for visitors, being close to the famous Hoe, and just 15 minutes from the Barbican and its pubs and restaurants. It's also less than 10 minutes' walk to the main shopping area.
The hotel itself has been comfortably refurbished, with gentle greys and greens. There's a guests' lounge and dining room.
I had an Executive Double Room, which was very spacious and tastefully furnished, with a huge bathroom. The room had quality bedding and towels, and nice toiletries. There was a welcome tray to make tea, coffee or hot chocolate. The bed was very comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. Everything was very clean. There was lots of hot water and a great shower.
The breakfast was a buffet for cereals, fruit, yoghurt etc, and a wide range of cooked items were available to order (I had a lovely cooked veggie breakfast). Gluten free options were available.
Staff were helpful and very friendly. There is a limited number of parking spaces but the hotel tries to manage it to park as many cars as possible. Parking permits are available for street parking for a small fee.
The only potential issue is that of noise from the single glazed windows - there's little traffic, but there are, of course, seagulls in the morning! It didn't bother me but might irritate light sleepers. Overall, though, I shall happily return there. read more
