My wife and I hired Ryan on November 6th to repaint the cabinets in our new house. His quote to…read morecomplete the job was double what we got from other painters, but he came recommended and had promised premium results. We were in the process of a cross-country move, so arrangements were made for Ryan to complete the work before we moved in. Of the 45 cabinets doors & drawers, 15 need to be redone because of bubbles, pinholes, drips in the paint, and even a bug painted in to one of the doors. There is overspray on our dishwasher, our stove, and our microwave. There are many areas where the original color is showing through and areas that weren't painted at all. When we asked Ryan to come take a look at the defects, we were attacked for asking. We were told that any defects we saw were wood grain showing through, and what we paid for was for the cabinets to be repainted, not resurfaced. He said if we wanted new cabinet look we should've paid new cabinet prices (3x what we'd paid), but that he'd be willing to resurface the bad cabinets for $130/door (another $2000). He cancelled three of the appointments to come take a look at the problem areas at the last minute, and was no-show for a fourth. He demanded payment in cash up front (outside the terms of his own contract), leaving us no recourse at all. Shoddy workmanship and awful customer service.

We paid him the full amount for the sevice/job, we hired him to do. He promised he would be back to fix and still has not completed our job. We have been waiting for months for him to contact us to come back and complete his mistakes. We are a hard working family and he refuses to answer our calls and finish our job that we paid for in full.

We paid up front for materials and were under contract to pay the labor at the end. Tom and Dave were about 2 weeks late delivering about 25% of the materials, and Dave moved at a snails pace, working only about 8 hours per week. After two weeks of this agonizingly slow progress, they asked for more money. I said we could discuss it after the remaining, already paid for materials are delivered. They just decided to bail on the job completely at that point and run with our money. We have since filed a police report and I have had some interesting exchanges with Tom. It has become clear that they never wanted to do the job from the start and had no intention of completing it. It was a scam and I would stay far away from this guy with your money. Not to mention Dave did a sub par install job on doors and baseboards. I fully regret hiring this company. On Tom's website it mentions being licensed and insured. Tom does not have a contractors license, he has a business tax license. Not the same thing. He was unable to provide proof of insurance when asked.

In addition, the employee installing the above-mentioned materials, maybe worked a total of 8-12 hours over several weeks span without completing the job. One of the reasons for non completion was that the owner didn't order enough materials. When questions, they assured us that the materials would be delivered. The company then asked us to remit more money. In response we questioned as to why due to the fact that delivery of materials was not made and not much labor was rendered. When I ran the numbers off the invoice he left for materials and the standard industry labor cost, the numbers didn't add up. This frustrated the owner. In addition, I contacted the supplier to ask about delivery and they confirmed there wasn't one. Thus this company had no intention of even ordering the remaining materials for the job and the willful intent to rip us off! Trying to resolve the matter, I had advised the company that the numbers didn't add up and without either rendering full materials or further labor, it would appear that the company actually owes us money! The scammy owner refused to rectify the matter. All I can say is simple math speaks for itself. As such, law enforcement had been notified and this company will need to resolve the matter in court. Obviously, I do not recommend this company and highly recommend seeking materials and labor elsewhere. Update: After leaving reviews, the owner text my husband and stated he would target me. As an individual who is smaller than this man, I do not feel comfortable with this man's threats. Please protect yourselves and your wallet from this individual!

We contracted with Anchor twice over a 10-year period to paint our condo building in Cocoa Beach…read more They did an outstanding job of completing the project on time and within our budget. When we bought a home in Merritt Island, I thought of Anchor first. Although their quote was one of the highest quotes to paint interior and exterior, I felt Anchor would really step up with a higher level of quality in workmanship. Wow was I wrong! What they promised was a glass-like finish of all interior trim and a full pressure wash of the exterior prior to their painting. First the interior issues: 1. They painted right over existing brush marks on all of the trim. When I asked about their commitment to sand the surface first and then roll with a foam roller to give their promised "glass-like finish", I found that their sanding was only a light sanding. I watched them perform this light sanding on roughly one out of every 20-square feet of surface area. I had to pay a change order fee of $1,200 to get them to sand the stairs banister and the dining room entry trim only. Even with this so called change order, the finish was less than promised. The caulking around windows was non-existent and they left Painter's tape all over the place with spilled paint on my garage floor. The interior took them roughly 3 months to complete. Now for the exterior: 2. They pressure washed the exterior leaving most of the mildew on the body of the home. Their contract was to spray and back-roll the body of our home. I told them that since we had just installed all new windows, they would be required to paint the home as though it were a new build; taking extreme care to caulk around all windows and caulk the stucco hot joints where they meet the cold joints. None of this happened and I had to have Anchor return to scrape around the window joints, caulk and paint as well as the stucco joints. Had I not caught this "shortcut", the windows would have leaked forever. Then after a month and a half of repairing damage gutters by Anchor painters and painting unpainted wall areas that they stated in their last final invoice were completed, I had to threaten them with legal action to get them to come back to finish. We then got on a ladder and looked at their quality of workmanship. From the ground the walls looked painted, from the left angle the walls looked painted but, if you were on a ladder and leaned to the right and looked back at the painted walls we found they had simply sprayed and not back rolled. the old paint color was prominent. Glad we caught that as Anchor painting had to return and literally repaint the entire house walls. The good news is we now have a very heavy coat of paint on our home that should last for a long time. The bad news is that had I not inspected every little detail we would have been left with a leaking, half painted home for a very high price. I later found out from speaking directly with their painter's crew that almost every painter is a sub contractor of Anchor and had I gone direct we would have saved roughly 40%. Lesson learned; do your homework. Anchor might be great for solid stucco concrete building exterior walls but if you are looking for a professional painting project with a focus on quality and detail, go elsewhere.
