In specific he said try to work with Mike, if possible. I actually waited about a month to start with Mike. I went in using a walker for stability and balance and 5 months later walked out on my own power, playing pickleball again. Mike is very knowledgeable in treating the whole body, but in particular legs, feet, and ankles. He put considerable pressure working my ankle just a little bit more each time. I also felt he understood the emotional trauma that I had experienced, being in a wheelchair for 9 weeks, and transitioning into the walker, then ankle brace, and finally walking unassisted. I have been to OrthoSport before for my shoulder and had great results with Edan. I was disappointed when I couldn't get in to see him sooner so I "shopped around" PT offices around the Mission Viejo area near the hospital. I did not like what I saw-chaos, overcrowding, non-professional very young staff, patients left alone doing exercises, cluttered office, etc. I went back to OrthoSport to beg Edan to fit me in, and he did! When you walk into the office, the ambience is relaxing, calm, soothing music playing and very welcoming. This is what I expect -an environment as if you were walking into a Hoag facility or a 5-star PT office. They don't overbook to try to get as many clients into the office at one time. This allows you to get one to one attention from the PT Assistants which is so nice. The office is very clean, each table is wiped down after each client, the equipment is well cared for, ample parking with easy access to the front of the office. During my first visit, I was a total mess--afraid to move my arm that was in a sling for so long. Edan is professional, supportive, personable, knowledgeable, patient, and has impeccable credentials. He takes the time to explain things and is empathetic and encouraging. The two remote receptionists are very welcoming. The PT Assistants are truly caring and sincere when they are working with me, giving me one to one attention, coaching and guiding me along. The PT Assistants in the office will become future DPT's. I am on the road to recovery. I thought I would never get to this point. You have to do the daily home exercises in order to see improvement. I hope I never need PT again but if I do, I will definitely go back to OrthoSport and see Edan and his staff. HE IS THE BEST!!!
