Good things: - Bible College program, lots of young people…read morecoming through and helping out with the church. - Good solid, practical teaching. - Strong emphasis on discipleship. - A heart to train up young leaders. Bible college students and interns were heavily involved while I was there, including leading the Wednesday night service with worship and teaching. - Warm community, I experienced lots of hospitality while I was there. - Pastor Bob leads by example. - Committed to the Bible. Concerns: - Their commitment to the Bible leads them to practice church discipline that occasionally escalates into asking people to leave the church. This can be good or bad, it's a tough line to walk, overall I think they show good discernment but I'm sure some cases haven't been handled in the best way. - I experienced fellowship from "the inside" as a Bible College student, I can't speak from the perspective of a newcomer that nobody knows. Overall: The best church experience I have had.

I am a newcomer to this island and the first thing I did was look for a church where I could praise…read moreGod and make new friends. Finally I tried to visit this church and after trying for 2 months, I felt that the pastor in his sermons was more just reading the bible without giving inspiration or motivation to the congregation. If I only listened to Brother Bruce reading the bible, I wouldn't need to come to church and because I have done that (I have finished reading the bible 3 times), one thing that made me want to ask Brother Bruce and I honestly feel that Brother Bruce is not worthy to be a leader pastor, he teaches something that is clearly contrary to Christian teachings, especially the 10 commandments of God, Thou shalt not kill !!!During mass on March 1, 2026, he justified the attack by Israel and America to kill the leader of Iran and also the attack caused the killing of hundreds of school children (they proudly displayed a picture of the Iranian leader with the sentence eliminated,) seeing this I felt disgusted and I asked myself why I was in this building? Is this a church? A pastor rejoices in the murder of someone he may personally hate. If Brother Bruce reads this, I hope he will re-evaluate and rethink the meaning of the Christian faith taught by Jesus Christ. Whatever the reason, there is no justification for murder.

The historic site also includes the original rectory, new rectory, and the original cemetery also from 1841. We arrived a few minutes before a lovely sunset and captured some amazing pictures. The church architecture is happily or was happily preserved from the ravages of post modernism. Therefore it still retained the form and beauty of a proper place of worship where the human senses are brought in alignment with contemplation of the Creator. This effect cannot and will never be achieved using current architectural designs that seem obliviously ok with building churches that look like basketball courts. Sic semper cum moderna. Cannot fully describe the joy we felt being here. Loved the coral-plaster columns, the Koa wood altar, and the antique built-in holy water fonts. The crucifix is exemplary and done in the French style. There is a surprising authentic statue dedicated to Our Lady of LaSallette and a very Hebraic themed statue of St Joseph, foster father of the Child Jesus. Spent a long time in prayer here. Tempus fugit... and time flew. Aside from the transcendent attributes, just walking around the site was edifying and peaceful. Highly recommend one visit this historic landmark if in the area. Mahalo for reading my review. Pax et Bonum.

We are currently attending the morning and night sermons, as well as their bible studies that they offer. You can tell that the brothers there work hard to ensure that they were preaching the Gospel and teaching others to be more like Jesus. Everything is so similar to the King St. Church Of Christ in Las Vegas that we both got baptized at and we're glad to be around fellow brothers and sisters. Everyone is so welcoming and you can tell how loving they are towards all their visitors. They told us to fill out our information in the back and sister Lala even took a picture of us after service was over! Brother Mike made it feel like we were home away from home and even offered to grab some snack after bible study. It feels amazing to be connected with spiritual family miles away and getting to know everyone. My husband and I will be staying here in Kauai for 2 more weeks and are planning to attend all services. Thank you Kauai Church of Christ for making us feel loved. We love you all!
