The owners were pleased to talk about the gallery, taking us into the back room for a full 'tour' (which was also their office area) and into the back garden area, which they went on to explain is "public space" and they invite people to spend time out there. They talked at length and with passion and conviction about various artist organizations and non-profits in the area, and the cherry on top was the informal, impromptu 'tour' of downtown Easton and its various business owners. After leaving this place, I was excited about the Lehigh Valley again, and it was inspiring to see this proof of a progressive, forward-thinking community who are proactive in making things happen (instead of complaining about nothing happening). Every time I go, I find something new. Mr. Stabin's imagination seemd to be limitless. Besides the Museum, there is a Jazz room with regular sessions and Ariel's Cafe. The cafe offers unique and delicious meals. The wait staff is professional, courteous, and eager to please. We have enjoyed every meal we have had there. The Museum is located far uphill on Broadway, but there is a parking lot - a rarity in Jim Thorpe. There is also a golf cart offering free rides to and from. If you have never been there, you must go. If you have been there, you will certainly return.
