September 9, 2023 Imaginaire Customer Service is Very Good or Very Bad. Terrible Rewards Program. Forces PayPal for USA customers. PayPal currency conversion may increase the purchase price in USD? I have had problems being sent flawed coins twice. Very disappointing, should never have happened with good Quality Control, but the customer service via email is good. They refunded my return shipping costs and the purchase price of the coin promptly. It was still an unnecessary hassle. Customer service over the phone is terrible. He answered the phone and said he was busy moving furniture and will call back in 30 minutes. Wrong. He did not call back until the next day. When he did, again he said he will send me an email and call me back in 10 minutes. Wrong again. He did not send an email and did not call me back. The reason I called on the phone is to let them know I have made 11 purchases totaling $33,000 and I am still not qualifying for their rewards program. He said some coins qualify as a transaction, some do not. Many of my purchases do not qualify. You must make 10 qualifying purchases before you are eligible for any reward. Wow. This is a terrible rewards program compared to other online dealers. This means the net price or cost at Imaginaire could be higher compared to other dealers with a good rewards program. Also, if you are in the USA, you are forced to purchase from Imaginaire via PayPal. Watch out. It looks like the currency conversion rate via PayPal also increases the purchase price in USD? My suggestion is you do not buy from Imaginaire. If you are looking for a Royal Canadian Mint online dealer, try The Coin Shoppe, TD, Colonial Acres, Canadian Coin & Currency, TSC or Canada Post. Or...you can purchase directly from the Royal Canadian Mint. Plus, there are more online dealers. read more

Beware of ordering online from this vendor. They do not stand behind the quality of their products. I received a defective product and was told they would only refund 25% of the cost as "store credit" that I could only use after i purchased 10 more things from them. This is the worst return policy I have ever seen. Order online from anywhere else first. read more

This is THE shop in Québec for anything hobby related. Whether you are into sports cards, puzzles, coin collection or anything else, they have it. The have friendly and knowledgeable staff and they'll always go the extra mile to help you. Furthermore, the manager of the sports department can evaluate your collection for insurance purposes which will allow you to get your collection insured. I collect hockey cards and they always have what I need in stock, the latest product, the supplies and accessories, they have it all. OH MY GOD QUEBEC YOU ARE THE LUCKIEST PROVINCE EVER. Seriously. I have been to gaming stores and comic book shops all over this great continent, and L'imaginare takes the cake. It takes the cake, dumps some poutine on it, wraps it in a crepe, says "Wolverine and Deadpool are from our country, bitches!" and throws it you. Ok, it's in a mall. You might think that makes it lame, but I think that speaks to how awesome it must be to be able to afford to be in a mall. Also, malls are nice for English-only speakers bcs no one talks to us there. The store is clean, huge, and amazing. Let's go down the roster. Comics: Francais? Anglais? L'imaginaire has both. Nice selection of trade paperbacks and back issues. Single monthlies? Not so much, buuuut I saw cubbies behind the counter, so I'm pretty sure they have a mailing order thing going on. If I lived anywhere near this amazing place, this is where I would get my comics. Hell, I work a few blocks from Midtown Comics in NYC and I might start ordering comics from L'imaginaire bcs they are that awesome (ok, not really. Also, side note, bought a comic from L'imaginaire and when I opened it, it had an ad for Midtown Comics. Cue USA chant. :P) Games: RPGs, board games, card games, TTSs. You name it, they have it. They had RPGs that I can't even find in the US. Live gaming: Tables set up in front with a big gang of cool kids playing Magic. Not sure if it was a tourney or if that's just how this store rolls. Books: From gaming strategy books, to fantasy and sci-fi, if you have a nerdy literary need, this looks like the place to go. Toys: Lots of cute comic-themed toys and decor. Figurines, busts, etc. I almost bought a little Daenerys Targaryen bobble head, and I'm still mad that Joe didn't get the hint that I actually wanted HIM to buy it FOR me. Clothes: T-shirts and caps with all your favorite supers on them. Also medieval costume, LARP gear, armor... wait.... what? Weapons: Wait, no, seriously... This store has LARP gear? A mall comic book store with LARP gear and foam weapons?! Actual weapons: SERIOUSLY? there are actual steel swords and bows and maces on the walls???!! Awesome location. They have stuff for almost any hobby you can think of. The sport card inventory is correct, but they sell hockey only (no baseball or football) and they don't restock it often. All their prices tend to be on the high end, not to say overpriced if you compare them online or to other hobby shops. They don't like to bargain with you, even you spend lots of dough. Maybe if they get more local competition, the balance experience would be more toward the customers. They also try to develop other locations, such in Levis and Sherbrooke, but they carry just the minimal stuff (puzzles, board games...) and no single trading cards, postage stamps or coin there. read more

My twins bought a boatload of Beanie Boos from Imaginaire. They are SO HAPPY! Toys came super fast and packed well. Prices were great and shipping was free. We will definitely be shopping there again! read more

If you are into this sort of stuff, this is a must visit. They have loads of games, cards games, books, stuffed animals, costumes and sports collectables. They must have about 20 staff on at one time so there is no issue getting help. If you are looking for vintage toys etc, you are out of luck. Their action figure selection was weak. Their prices are really bad also. You are paying for their prime retail location. Worth a trip, but maybe spend a little less somewhere else. read more

I am extremely pleased with the service that L'Imaginaire provided. I was in search of a rare book and they were the only online store that had it in stock. I was initially hesitant because I don't like to order from new places online but decided to take a chance. After some initial miscommunication about my order a gentleman from the store called me and we had the confusion sorted out right away. The book shipped the next day and arrived a few days later in very sturdy packaging. I am in Ottawa so can't comment on their retail store though it certainly looks amazing. Based on the guy I spoke with though they are great people. read more
