Oh so many injuries have caught up with me. I've been to multiple Imaging Healthcare locations over the years but this is my preferred one. The staff has changed many times in that duration but the quality of care has not. The front desk person always greets you when you arrive and verifies that you have completed the necessary online check-in process. The wait times always vary but I've never waited an exorbitant amount of time for my appointment. The technicians have dealt with have always been polite and professional and most are quite friendly. I prefer to get imaging here because all doctors and clinics are able to pull scans and reports even old ones from one place. I do not need to get access or copies for follow ups or new doctors.

I had never been under anesthesia or anything. Let's just say when I came out of surgery I was in and out. I would wake up and fall asleep, I'm not too sure if the anesthesia just wasn't wearing off as fast as they thought it would but I did not feel ok. My oxygen kept dropping and I just remember my nurse calling me a "light weight" laughing at me MULTIPLE times. I'm sorry but how unprofessional is that? I remember thinking to myself, what kind of nurse says then when a patient is in a vulnerable state. Honesty, I had my surgery 3 weeks ago and the thought of it still bothers me. That nurse needs some sort of training. It made me not want to get surgery there ever again. Who wants to be mocked and laughed at when they're in recovery?

I still have pain, numbness, and tingling in my left forearm, elbow, and ring/pinky fingers more…read morethan three months after a colonoscopy with Dr. Copur where my painful IV wasn't removed when I said it hurt. It then infiltrated during the procedure and was still left in my arm. This is called NEGLIGENCE. Note that I am a perfectly healthy person who has no risk factors for complications, so this could happen to you as well. Don't be fooled by how nice the nurses are or how well landscaped or pretty the facility is. Dr. Guy, the anesthesiologist, and the staff couldn't be bothered to spend five minutes to remove my painful IV even though that is standard of care. I spoke up about it several times. They still got paid, so who cares, right? My UCSD PCP, Dr. MacFarlane, essentially told me I was a nut job who made up my symptoms ("overly sensitive due to medical trauma") when I went to him in tears two weeks later still in intense pain and with symptoms of nerve compression. I then dropped UCSD Health as my provider due to his disgusting, negligent evaluation of my injury as well as Dr. Copur's failure to follow up or provide any post-op instructions for IV infiltration. I do have medical PTSD from a previous medical error that occurred with my anesthesia when I had surgery for cancer years ago in my 20s. Any procedure with anesthesia is VERY hard for me to do. I had this talk with Drs. Copur and Guy, as well as all nurses who saw me in pre-op. They violated my body and my trust anyway through their sloppy "care," as did Dr. MacFarlane when he weaponized my trauma against me. Which makes it all so much worse. I had to establish care with Scripps to get a proper evaluation. I have now been diagnosed, and have an EMG pending that will evaluate nerve damage. I start physical therapy this week. I hope it helps so my arm will stop hurting and I can regain all my physical strength that's been lost. There is no accountability, ever, for bad medical professionals unless you're dead or lose a limb, so getting my arm rehabbed is my goal.

The pre-op and post-op bays are impressively designed: private yet open enough for nurses to keep an eye on patients easily. Every staff member we met -- from check-in to recovery -- was professional, kind, and reassuring. The whole process ran like clockwork but never felt rushed or impersonal. For family members waiting during surgery, UCSD has thought of everything: nearby food options, convenient self-parking and valet parking, and a comfortable waiting area with a status board that keeps you updated on your loved one's progress. They've truly set the standard for outpatient care. The combination of thoughtful design, efficiency, and genuine compassion made what could have been a stressful day feel calm and well supported. Although I had been on the campus before over the years, I had never accessed the medical buildings or facilities. The reason for my visit was to undergo a sleep-induced endoscopy. You first check in with the friendly receptionist on the lower level. The best way to access the Koman Pavilion facility is via the back south entrance, which double doors lead directly to the check-in area for whatever procedure you undergo. Everyone was friendly and this facility is recommended.
