Took my son and nephew to this and was very impressed. The lights had lots of opportunities to take photos and had fake snow blowing. A huge lit sleight you can sit in, and music playing. There was story time with the elves, which was interactive and they read two books. They let the kids tell Christmas jokes and take pictures with the elves on stage. They also offered free professional photos with Santa, which they text to you as a link. Santa was super sweet to our boys and told them both they were on the nice list. There was a Christmas stage show with @kidsimaginenation playing elves that the kids loved dancing along with. The elves show alternated with a band, and the singer had great interaction with the kids. There are some paid add-ons like cookie decorating, and s'mores kits. There is a bar where you can get regular hot chocolate or spiked. It was pretty cold but there were fire pits and patio heaters. Besides the hot cocoa they sold churros, coffee, pretzels, tamales, turkey legs, elote, hot dogs and candy.

We got our tickets for 60% off on Black Friday. We spent around $60 for 2 adult and 1 child ticket. We spent an additional $18 for parking. It isn't worth even the discounted price of admission. Only 1/5th of the lake is lined with lighted displays. That's the most disappointing part - it's called illuminate! You can walk through the lighted portion in less than 3 minutes. It's small. After the light trail, there is a Santa. It's staged in front of a bar where you can order regular or spiked hot cocoa (the latter was $15). You get a free professional photo. There is a very small, unattended table with 4 chairs where your kids can write letters to Santa. If you want to do the s'mores station or cookie decorating, it's an additional $10 per child. The "live entertainment" is a band who plays Christmas music. There are no food vendors. The vendors are kind of terrible actually because they weren't even holiday focused, few things you'd see at weekend swap meets. We went with a group of people so our kids had fun running around and it kept us there longer. Otherwise we would have been in and out of there in less than an hour. Just too much dead space and not enough lights for the outrageous cost of this event. Had I paid 60% more than the discount tickets I purchased, I would be dumbfounded. The event needs a lot of work.

Don't waste your time and money. Not worth the price of admission. Not much there to see and do for the expensive admission.

Way too expensive for the experience. Nice idea in theory, however, the cost outweighs the Christmas experience. Disappointing

The queues can get a bit long. Nothing like Knott's or Universal Studios. You can usually save some money if you sign up for their newsletters as they tend to do deals before they officially open. Scares: I love that they only let small groups in at a time. I'm easily jumpy, but this just takes the stress level up a notch. The actors do a great job and some of the decor/scenery is downright creepy! Parking: It's dark and bumpy. Don't wash your car beforehand and know that it will feel like you're doing a bit of off-roading at times. Food and drink: They have vendors onsite, but they're pricey. There's some restaurant/bar options to enjoy before or after within a 5-10 minute drive.

Yes, I've been to the first one at Lantern Bay Park, the second one in Long Beach, another Dana point one the year after with the BBQ trucks and now this one in the middle of BFE. Yes, this should not have been called Taste of B R E W S, more like Taste of B F E. If you had to drive out eastbound on the 60, and exit Archibald, you would've encounter what I had to go through. Some detours that made you loop an additional 3 miles. I would've loved if there was some kind of update on the website stating traffic conditions. This, and the fact that the location was close to SC village, my GPS kept looping me back and forth. So I was already 30 minutes behind. Once I found this place at Riverview Park, it was $5 to enter. Oddly enough, you can probably park across the street and walk over if you didn't mind walking in the heat for about 1/2 mile. I paid the $5 and we were given a paper stating: "Please be careful. We have had a bumper crop of invasive weeds and squirrels due to the drought. The ground is uneven and there are a lot of holes. Park only on cut areas" WTF? You know you're in cowtown when you have weeds and squirrel problems. And after I parked, I still had to walk through 800 yards of dry nothingness. It looked like a night time, it could pass for one of those ghost haunt houses. So that was all what's wrong with this, here are the great parts. I was lucky enough to be given tickets from YelpOC to this event. I was given a cup and the usual plastic 5 oz cup for the taste of brews with 10 tasting wristband. I met a couple who also won but the tickets were given to her friend Ivy. The event seemed small enough that there was practically NO WAIT. I saw two food trucks and there were ample shade from the buildings. I saw a lot of Inland Empire breweries and I was excited as I never usually get to taste most of them since they were so far away from each other. Some of the brewers were cool enough that once they got my ticket and I came back, they poured me additional without taking an additional ticket. There was Bootleggers-pumpkin ale and Hefe on tap. Always solid brew, wished they had Knuckle. JT Schmid-Strange they are here, I always see them at the Anaheim events since they have good food. BlackMarket brewing-This is my favorite brewery currently in the IE. Love Love their Rye IPA, 4th anniversary, 1945. But they poured 4 taps including Aftermath, Superstition (I think), Invasion (TIED for best beer of the day) 4 Sons Brewing-Had a Not so Dum Rasperberry Blond (which was ok, too sour for me and doesn't quite taste like a sour) but the one that blew away was their double IPA (TIED with Blackmarket on best beer of the day) Full body and malty in your face goodness. Firestone Walker-Served Pale 31 and Union Jack. I love your beers FW but honestly I would've preferred something like Velvet Merkin, Lil Opal, Bretta Weise, Sucaba and pretty much anything else beside what your brought. I also had Sons of Liberty and Wiens Brewing which also had some decent beers. There was Sam Adams (didn't try) as well as Shocktop (didn't even bother) I didn't find anyone with anything really different. Right by the entrance there was a truck that had a stout. I believe it was a blueberry stout. It didn't taste like blueberry, nor a stout for me. Either that or I was just given a bad batch. There was also a ginger beer by the entrance poured by the bottles. That was quite refreshing, maybe a nice beer as a finisher. There was small bottles of water, music , and that horde of ladies with a bachlorette who had a wristband full of tickets. I bought her a drink because frankly, I had to leave early for a wedding. I hung out with a couple of new friends Luis and Frank throughout my time here and I would say this felt more like a small, intimate event. It reminded me of my time back in UCR when I was going there for undergrad. One of the reason I chose Riverside was how intimate the institution was. I really enjoy the fact you can just talk to people and enjoy the beer. Maybe not by manure (I kid you not, there was a pile of free manure that is about 3 miles away) land since the other Taste of Brews are all by the beach. I can easily come up with 3 or 4 possible alternatives to this location that would've been so much better. I hope Mike , the event organizer, will consider another location that is easier on navigation and view. However, I did enjoy this event because I would never be able to drive all the way to Temecula or Redland for a beer. Thanks for organizing and thanks to YelpOC for the tix!

I want to address the "bad" first because it really took away from the experience for me. First, on their IG they promoted the event with a map showing all the parking structures that will be "available" for the event however, that was not the case the day of the event. Knowing how crowded these events get my bf and I decided to show up early so we can snag a convenient parking spot in a close by parking lot but we kept getting rerouted to the furthest lot that was behind the school. This made no sense whatsoever. At first we were going along with it and we were going to park all the way in the back but I just couldn't understand why we would if we were early and there were other lots advertised-closer lots I should stress. So we went back and tried another lot; the one off of citrus and scholar way (not the one in the school). Once there we spoke to someone who said there was going to be a wedding so parking wouldn't be available unless the some other lot would be opened but it wasn't opened at the time we showed up so that was extremely frustrating. At this point I was just over the parking situation. Why advertise lots and not have them open to use? Wouldn't it make sense to open the closer lots to those who get there early and redirect later traffic to further lots? Idkkk. But it was annoying. We approached one of the event entrances once it was almost 12pm. There were security still setting up and they were really cutting it close since it was almost 12pm and a huge line was starting to form behind us. They had issues at another entrance so that delayed us from going in and it sucked because it was extremely hot out. Once security got the okay we were let in. The first order of business once we were inside was finding a refreshing drink. It was crazy hot out on Saturday (first day of the event) so we stopped by Scoops for and got one of their Dragonfruit Strawberry Lemonades. At this point of the festival there were many seats open but as the crowds kept coming in it was clear the festival did not provide enough seating or shade. So just to summarize the "bad" -parking sucked -took a while to enter the event -not enough seating or shade BUT despite these things the event was one of the best ones I've attended. The food options were amazingly great. There was a little of everything for everyone and I loved that! Everything I tried was completely new to me and I wouldn't have tried it if it wasn't for this event. I loved the ube jelly from Ube Bread Box. Krumblez Cookie Co always hits the spot with their red velvet cookies. Aji Panca's chicken breast skewer was delicious and I'm super impressed they offer single options (to allow more room for other things lol). Kokonut was so yummy; they gave a sample and I had to come back to get more. Not only did this event have food options there were also merch vendors. We saw plants, keychains, anime merch, and more! And honestly I think it was beautiful and wonderful they had entertainment through out the day displaying and celebrating all cultures. The event as a whole could definitely use some work to make it a bit more organized and a bit more comfortable for the attendees by providing more shade and seating. The vendors were awesome! A lot of food options and cool knickknacks to buy. I hope Eastvale continues doing this festival and I hope it keeps getting better and better.
