Figo Pet Insurance

Figo Pet Insurance

From Nationwide to Figo -- The Upgrade Our Dogs Deserve…read more After 4 dogs and more than 15 years, we finally made the switch in pet insurance--and wow, do I wish we'd done it sooner. Goodbye Nationwide. Hello, Figo! I honestly can't believe we now have significantly better coverage, higher reimbursement, and we're saving over $330 a year. That alone would've sold me, but then there's the Figo app--easy to use, packed with helpful details, and just generally designed to make pet parent life simpler. Even prescription costs are lower. Figo is offered through Costco, which gives an automatic 15% discount, and if you insure a second dog, that jumps to 20% off. Nationwide? We only received a 5% employer discount. Not even close. Here's where it really matters: Figo: ** $250 deductible ** 90% reimbursement ** unlimited coverage, plus ** wellness care (bloodwork, vaccines, and vet exams included) Nationwide: ** $250 deductible ** 70-80% reimbursement, capped at $5,000 per category annually, and NO wellness or exam coverage--despite what we were paying Yes, you can customize deductibles and reimbursement levels to lower the premium, but the plan we chose gives us maximum coverage and reimbursement--and still costs far less. I truly regret waiting. I should have switched months ago... especially back in October when Nationwide informed us they were discontinuing the plan we had for our boy. If you're on the fence: don't wait like I did. **Figo is a game changer.** #Figo #PetInsuranceUpgrade #WorthIt

I wouldn't recommend Figo Pet Insurance. Costco made it seem fantastic, but I have been sorely…read moredisappointed. Previously with Nationwide Pet Insurance, premiums were higher but dedicated customer support existed. I could easily call and receive answers from one of their professional and courteous representatives. I also received a higher percentage of reimbursed claims. With Figo, filing a claim is done through AI. When I had questions about a denied claim, I called customer service because Figo's AI isn't equipped to answer questions. The representative spoke so quickly. Even when I asked the rep to slow down for comprehension's sake, everything was handled at the same rushed pace. I called at another time for different reasons and received the same rep with the same hurried style. The extra star is for when claims are approved: the reimbursement process doesn't take long. Also, Figo charges lower premiums than other companies. Rating them a one-star came to mind because their process seems more complicated than Nationwide's and less claims are being approved through Figo. If I downgraded them to a one-star after filing more claims, it wouldn't surprise me.

Look, shopping for pet insurance is never easy. Everything is more expensive than you want, and…read moredoesn't cover as much as you'd like. I researched many different companies for pet insurance, and ended up going with Prudent Pet mostly for the option to add on wellness coverage. So far I've made good use of the wellness coverage, and haven't had any issues making claims. Claims are processed quickly, and I haven't felt the need for any disputes. I've also claimed some emergency fees, but haven't reached the deductible yet (perfectly reasonable) so I'll have to update the review when I run into a situation like that--fingers crossed that it isn't for a while!! I went with four stars because it isn't the cheapest option out there, but so far I've been satisfied with the value. We'll see if that changes if/when I run into a true emergency situation that requires a larger payout.

I was optimistic when I first switched to Prudent Pet. Customer service is friendly and responsive…read more However-if you are thinking of adding a wellness plan, don't. The annual cost of the plan is more expensive than the benefits. Additionally, the PP wellness plan covers only some of the necessities for dogs, and the reimbursement fees are not in alignment with what a major city veterinarian charges. This summer they were updating their portal/website/communication something--which, despite being told twice that my dog was still covered, they did not rollover the policy and so when I realized it in July, I had to back pay three months and my annual policy restarted. I am looking to cancel early, but I doubt that will be possible. While this company may be "cheaper", understand you are also getting a lot less coverage and they nickel and dime worse than my previous insurance company.

I had Bivvy Pet insurance for my older pet. I had decided it was time to look into cost of…read moreinsurance as he was still pretty healthy and I had just retired and was now on a limited incom. Little did I know my timing for getting insurance for my little guy was timely! 6 months later he was diagnosed with heart failure. Bivvy covered his exams and also cardiac meds per their coverage! I had checks in mail within a week! They even called to see how my pup was. Bivvy was so forthcoming with their insurance coverage, better then any insurance coverage I had for myself!

I discovered BIVVY on Facebook, & figured 'WOW!! $20/mo (per pet)??!!!! Seems too good to be…read moretrue1" Well, I ended up with them for a few yrs & even recommended them to friends & coworkers. Well, this past August I was told that they were not renewing my coverage because they were basically going out of business, & referred me to their "partner" SPOT Pet Insurance (which costs 3x as much!). I have since learned that may not be the case, as a friend of mine is STILL making payments to BIVVY, which are being accepted. Anyway, when I made my last payment, I had already started shopping around, & within a few minutes of making that payment, I did sign with another company. I then emailed BIVVY for a refund, but never heard from anyone. Now they're are claiming that they have no such record of any email. Why don't you just give me back my $80, rather than face a seething review??!!!! DO NOT TAKE OUT BIVVY INSURANCE ON YOUR PETS!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE CHEATS!!!!!! GO WITH A REPUTABLE COMPANY!!! I wish I could give LESS than a full star!!!
