I'm in the Northwestern system, but the ambulance had to take me to Rush because it's so close. All I can say is that EVERYONE did a tremendous job with me. They responded to every request I had. They explained every test, procedure, IV and medication--which I demand--without me having to drag information out of them. I didn't feel like I was caught up in a slow bureaucracy, or was just another revenue source. They made me very comfortable as I was improving. "Close the door and turn off the light please." And they did, every time! Sounds small, but it was a huge comfort. They thought of me instead of only making things easier for themselves, which I've experienced. When I could eat real food, I got a big plate of pot roast and mashed potatoes; not bad! But who eats that much? :-)) One HUGE problem. The in-room phone rang off the GD hook with AI robocalls trying to sell me everything from funeral insurance to grocery programs to therapy. I needed to keep the phone live because my mobile phone was dead for awhile. If I hung up, they'd call back Immediately. You know how many distractions there are to sleep in a hospital? THESE CALLS DOUBLED THOSE INTERRUPTIONS. Woke me up EVERY time. RUSH: These calls are a substantial and authentic obstacle to getting well, which is your business. I mentioned it to a doctor, and he had a resigned "That happens." NOT good enough. They've GOT to do something about that. It felt like way more than a coincidence that those calls were coming in. It is nothing more than TOTAL B.S. But I'm reviewing the people here. P.S. THANK YOU (name redacted) for slipping me that cup of ice water. Whew.

Now my wife went there for a second opinion on open heart surgery and guess what? No one I mean NO ONE has gotten back to her yet 7 months later and the excuse they all use is I'm waiting on your medical records. I can be treated like crap for free I don't need to pay for it. If you value your life and you are hell bent on coming here stay on them because if you don't they will forget all about you. And, before you ask I have one of the best insurances in the country, so getting paid was not a problem. In closing there are too many sick people and not enough doctors to take care of all of them and it's so easy at RUSH to fall through the cracks. Every doctor or clinic I've ever dealt with has at least a short list of referrals when they can't help directly. My review is mixed feeling, I am grateful for my orthopedic surgeon, while in surgery, I know he…read moreaccidentally cut an artery in my foot while removing hardware from my tibia and fibula that was 25 years old, I do not know if that is normal or it happens I don't know but they repaired it took longer in surgery obviously, but afterwards I'm left with some numbness in tingling and cold and spasms and swelling off and on, they had me go to get a referral for my doctor for an ultrasound on the veins for blood flow, the test itself when okay and they did not find it was a blood flow problem, I believe it has to be with the nerves possibly or a muscle problem from moving the muscles around I don't even know yet but I still suffer with it, but my issue with them is first while I was in the hospital my nursing staff was great they did an awesome job orthopedic nurses in this hospital are really good, they charge for therapy but all they did was have me walk from my bed to the bathroom and back never took me out of the room once but sure did Bill the insurance for a full therapy session, next the food service people are absolutely terrible, I don't know if the woman who normally brought my food was just against white people or something I have no clue but she never would put it where I could reach it, she'd always put the food on the tree but never helped me get it never push it up to the bed or close to me. If the tray just happened to be on the side of the room or in front of the bed she would put it there and leave it, so I would always be hungry because by the time someone came into the room the food was cold didn't taste good anyway but it was cold which is not good unless you're ordering cold food. Biggest problem I have with this hospital though is there billing center, I have been fighting with these people since they sent me my first bill in June of 2026 for the ultrasound that I had in March of 2026, when I questioned why they were sending me that bill, they said my insurance denied payment, but my insurance shows they paid for that date, and they said it was for the doctor's bill that reads the ultrasound but they tried to tell me the doctor performed the ultrasound, they did not! I kept asking them ever since to please resubmit to the insurance make sure all the information they provided them was correct, cuz my insurance would not tell them they need my social security number and they would not tell them that they don't have a patient under them with that information unless it was wrong. Which is strange that they would pay the big part of the bill and deny something else while asking for that information doesn't make sense, finally I had my insurance in on it three way call my agent asked the right questions I didn't think of, and it turns out the claim they put through was not mine it was for someone else a man I am not a man. I am a woman since the day I was born I've been female, so now it's a weight game while we wait to see if they actually resubmit like my insurance asked. Which I asked so many times already and they had the nerve to turn me into collections without checking anything to make sure they were right, put me through all this stress when they entered the wrong information to begin with. What a mistake this was. the shot hurt and the pain did not subside. and to top if off, the charge for this was ASTRONOMICAL! after checking around other clinics, I found that Advocate medical charges about 75% higher than any other clinic that I could find. I protested and was told that this is there charge. I asked to discuss this with the doctor and they told me he no longer works there!! I couldn't even speak with the doctor about the exorbitant charges that I received. This clinic is a cattle ranch, and is out to grab you any way they can. DO NOT HESITATE, RUN THE OTHER DIRECTION before you need to pay with your first born child.

It was easy to schedule an appointment, and when I got there, I was met with friendly smiles and efficient, professional staff. I was called back to see Dr. Pritikin almost immediately. He was smart, kind, and really understood my issues and experiences. He prescribed meds that made me feel better the same day, and I have follow-up visits scheduled soon. Every single interaction I had with their admin & medical staff was kind and informative. They made me feel taken care of and the friendly/calm demeanor of the nurses & other medical staff helped me feel less nervous going into surgery. I decided to leave this review in case it helps anyone else feel less nervous but also because I truly think they're trying to do better, or at least I hope that's the case. They wanted me in and out in 10 minutes. Premier Pain and Spine and Dr. Dasgupta have been a welcome revelation; his knowledge, willingness to try different treatments until we found ones that worked, and most importantly his commitment to understanding my injury (taking the time to read my file, look at my imaging and contacting other physicians I have worked with). This detailed approach has largely been absent in my pain treatment to date. I greatly appreciate his efforts and in 15 years of this, he has provided the first real non-narcotic relief that I have received. While this office is quite busy he always takes the necessary time to go over the plan for treatment, reviews what has worked and what hasn't and has shown great patience with my questions (as the type of patient who will show up journal-article-in-hand, this is going above-and-beyond the call of duty). I greatly appreciate PPS, Dr. Dasgupta and the rest of the personable, professional and patient medical and office staff. Dr. Cohen is a supremely talented, timely, detail-oriented doctor. I appreciated his quick, direct…read morefeedback and attitude. I can't imagine having had a better team working to bring me back to full health. I was in a bike accident back in December that severely dislocated my thumb. An ER doctor set/splinted it, and I went off to hike mountains across the world. When I came back to Chicago, a month after the accident and "re-set", it was still swollen, intensely painful, and unusable. I looked up Dr. Cohen with some Googling, and was immediately set up with an appointment. The entire staff at Rush Medical was professional, timely, and efficient, much like Dr. Cohen himself. The facility is gorgeous and easy to navigate, as well. He quickly assessed the damage and set me up for surgery, which, to my understanding, was fairly complex, involving re-arranging ligaments. As a side-note, they had originally scheduled my surgery for Water Tower Place, but Dr. Cohen's team realized that my insurance wouldn't apply there, and re-scheduled very quickly for the Rush facility, which my insurance did cover. Surgery went extremely well-- great facility, great anesthesiologist, great nurses, and of course, Dr. Cohen is a fantastic surgeon. He and his staff set a very clear post-op recovery plan and were very communicative, making sure that I knew what needed to happen and when. I'm back to full use of my thumb, which is hugely important to me as a very active person and frankly, borderline miraculous given the amount of time that elapsed between injury and actually fixing the problem. Dr. Cohen and his staff never wasted my time, were clear, friendly, and honestly, I can not fathom having had a better team taking care of me. Highly recommended.

By the time I drove into the city to see him, I had already seen 2-3 other doctors regarding my severe ulnar-sided left wrist pain. Each previous doctor I was seen by told me that I had tendinitis and that I needed PT. I knew what tendinitis felt like, and this wasnt it. So, when I made an appointment with Dr. Cohen, I was excited at the prospect of finally finding out what was going on with my wrist. Well, he spent a total of about 5-10 minutes with me, eventually telling me there was nothing he could do for me that the other doctors hadnt already discussed. I was crushed. I could not believe he wasnt listening to me. I may just have been another patient to him, but this seriously affecting my life. I felt as if he blew me off. After his appointment, I went to a local doctor in Munster, IN. She was terrific, and listened to what I had to say. She ordered an MRI Arthrogram and BOOM, a tear in my TFCC was discovered. She performed the surgery for me. Im not trying to say Dr Cohen is a bad doctor. I just wish he would have listened to me and not treated me like I had no idea what my body was telling me. It was an extremely disheartening appointment.
