Just wow. We stayed at the Hostatgeria del Santuari de Cura on a high hill of Mallorca up the Puig…read morede Randa mountain. The panoramic views of the Bay of Palma were spectacular and breathtaking. The front desk gentleman personally walked us to our corner room with the best view and told us that the restaurant downstairs was already booked for the evening and that the Michelin star Irene Gutierrez Huamani chef from Peru was the chef tonight. Since we were located on the top of hill, there was absolutely nothing around unless we chose to trek back down the hill for food, so we ventured downstairs and tried our luck. We showed up at 715pm right about when they opened. The lady said people usually book a week in advance but that they were able to squeeze us in and would need the table back in about an hour. We felt so happy and accomplished that we were able to try out this place. Their house bread had olives encrusted in it (2,20/person). There was a tasting menu for 79,00/person but we opted a la carte and basically ordered almost what was on the tasting menu and more. We ordered tacos secreto iberico (16,00/2 tacos so you have to order multiples if you have more than 2 people per party), ceviche exotico salmon (21,00), papa rellena confit (15,00/for 2), rabo de buey (oxtail) (26,00), bacalao retinado (cod) (27,00), and the tagliatelle langostin (prawn) (26,00). Had the copa Mallorca beer. Everything was absolutely amazing except the tagliatelle, which was a bit salty. Highly recommend the oxtail, tacos, ceviche and potatoes. We finished off with a drink called orujo which I felt was very strong. Everything was like a fairytale and perfect up to this point. When it was time for us to finish up, the check took forever to arrive and when it did, no one ever came by for us to close out the check so we could leave. Just paying took almost an hour. Of course, we cherished the moment and people watched. Many were dressed with their A game. But still, we would've liked to leave earlier, especially since they mentioned they needed the table back. We ended up doing almost a 2.5 hours meal even though the food came out quickly. I went back upstairs to our room and looked down from our balcony at guests dining and enjoying their meal. The restaurant closed at 10p but I could hear the kitchen still cleaning, finally ending their night at 1am. What an amazing experience. Absolutely recommend if you're in the area.

If you want to enjoy the sunset, make sure to get reservations in advance. The team of waiters are super attentive yet not obnoxious. Also, they had an amazingly priced lunch menu that included appetizer, entree and dessert for $22 euros. I mean, it is like Miami Spice but Spaniard style. Talk about amazing bread; it was baked with olives inside ! and of course, more olives on the side with a aioli which was perfect to pair my wine. From their lunch menu, I went with a basil and tomato salad; delish! Although, I am not a big fan of Cod fish, the one of their menu was super soft and not too strong on flavor. For dessert, I had the most perfect piece of heaven. A mixed of Merengue, soft cake and Ice Cream... ohh yeahh, what a perfect treat!

This place is tucked away at the end of a road overlooking a beautiful beach about 8-10 minutes east of the the St. Regis resort. I'm so glad I didn't simply fall into the Siren-like enchantment of the St. Regis, and chose to venture out for dinner. The sunset was stunning, but the food... The food was simply amazing. Knowing I would review the restaurant, I ordered a 5 course prix fixe selection at 92€. First came homemade bread, followed by a delicious gazpacho (compliments of the chef). The bread was served with an olive tapenade that was fantastic. Following this was the start of 5 courses with a thinly sliced (cooked) Tuna appetizer served with a purée on top. Great, although a bit on the salty side. Bot suThis was followed by an amazing seared scallops with artichoke purée and topped with Iberian crispy bacon bits. Yum. What came next was a bit left field, but super tasty - shrimp red curry Thai noodles. What?!?!?? Super yum. The main dish of seared pork was good, but here's a great example of "American" expectations. This pork is so dark and so rich I actually had to ask if it was beef! I know, I know. How uncultured, but I'm telling you, it was as dark as beef, as rich as beef, and nearly impossible to decipher. For a split second I thought they actually brought me someone else's plate. Super rich. Fantastic. And then came dessert. I was SO full, and so glad I tried this local fixture.
