They have two menues, one in Danish and Italian, the other in English. I ordered the seafood pasta and my husband ordered the veal. The seafood pasta had crawfish, clams, muscles, and squid. The crust is perfect and I was sad that I was too full to eat all of mine. Such a delicious meal. Service was friendly and prompt. Menu prices were pretty good, especially given the great food. This was a great place to have dinner, and an amazing pizza experience. Highly recommended.

Intresting pizzas at OK prices (given the location)…read more If you're visiting Copenhagen and are looking for an authentic Italian pizza, then you are better off going somewhere else. Danes have different tastes and that shows, even when it comes to pizza. So, if you like to experiment and are in the mood for a Nordic style pizza, this is the place. Literally in the most popular area of the city, Nyhavn, it offers nice pizza variations. You'll find pizza with an egg on top, created by a Japanese chef, pizza with smoked beef and sausages, veggie pizza with Nordic ingredients etc. To accompany it, you can get beer and wine. They even have house beer. Pizza isn't your thing... Then maybe Nordic style pasta. Also, they have many appetizers of Italian origin with a Danish twist (such as potatoes in dishes in which an Italian chef would never add). The prices aren't cheap (if you're a tourist). But for Copenhagen standards, given the location, they're ok (140 dkk a pizza). So, if you want to see Nordic interpretations of Italian food, drop on in.

I have been to Armando's about 6 times throughout the course of 4 months, and I was amazing by the superb quality of food and service. Whenever I go, I get the same thing-- Rigatoni con filetto di manzo e tartufo (pasta in truffle sauce) and beef carpaccio. The beef carpaccio is so so good! The beef itself is so delicate and melts in your mouth. The parmesan, balsamic dressing, and arugula that come on top of the beef gives the dish a great balance and really makes it special. The rigatoni dish is actually the BEST pasta dish I've ever had. I can't help but to compare all the pasta I've had since the first time I came here to this rigatoni. The rigatoni is coated in a truffle cream sauce with tender beef chunks and then flambéd with vodka in a parmesan cheese wheel so that the cheese melts all around the rigatoni. Literally drooling just thinking about it. SO GOOD! Just a short walk from Gentofte station, so you can easily commute via transportation. Not the closest to downtown Copenhagen, but it is so worth it! Amazing atmosphere, amazing service, and beyond amazing food! Highly highly recommended!

This is my second time dining in Scarpetta, the first being on the one at Islands Brygge and I'm…read morestill happy with the experience. To be fair, it's not a traditional Italian place, more of modern fusion with Scandinavian twist if I allow myself to use the fancy word, but that doesn't make it any less delicious. Although I still dream about my Italian dinner at a nice restaurant in Parma (and nothing comes remotely close yet), I find Scarpetta is good enough place to indulge your Italian cravings. The location is on Rantzausgade, which is just a couple of minutes walk from Forum Metro st that benefits me greatly (as I'm usually too impatient to take bus and I have no bikes) in contrast to the other Scarpetta at Islands Brygge that is a bit far too reach if you don't have a bike. The service was great and always with a smile. They were good with timing between the dishes since we ordered the five-course meal. The food - Mina K and I both ordered the five course since it has to be ordered by the whole table. I have no regrets, they were delicious! The starter was white asparagus with shrimps, banca caugna, lemon and herbs that were fresh and perfect to line up your stomach for the upcoming soup. The second course - the lobster soup was probably not quite instagramable (hence the lack of picture) but they were delicious all the same. Then the third course - the pasta (cavatelli), peas, salsiccia, lovage and parmesan was out and that was my favourite. I'm always a fan of pasta and salsiccia (shoot me, but I do love my sausages!) so combined together, this dish went straight to my stomach (and heart, for that matter). The fourth course - prosciutto fresco, parsley creme and burnt onion was supposed to be the "main course" (although all four courses were relatively starter size) and like Mina K, I was surprised to see that it was more of pork belly than cured meat, but hey - meat! no complaint from me. The meat however tasty was a bit too salty and too much on the fatty side, perhaps a few more seconds on the pan would do wonder! ....and so came the dessert - rhubarb mousse, strawberry sorbet and white chocolate crumble. A little disclaimer - I love anything rhubarb, so they couldn't really mess up on the last dish for me. I'm pretty much sold and was aware on how full I had become (I used to be a very big eater and still had hard time to believe that five starter meal would make me full, but hey - I've grown older and wiser!) The only reason I didn't give this place five star was the too-salty prosciutto and the fact that they charge tap water (25 DKK) although we didn't get it added to the bill, but seriously? But I'm still happy to go again in the future.
