Juno and Jupiter be praised that he indeed is. I don't remember what we ate, but I do remember us being utterly floored by how good it was. So much so that in a four day stay, we came for our evening eats TWICE. The owner is one of those happy, lucky few who truly loves what he does for a living (and extremely good as well) and it is so evident in the food he serves. Heed the words of the first reviewer Crystal. Personally, I think it's the best food north of Napoli and that includes that wonderful arena of gluttony, Bologna. If you goto Torino, go here. If only all of life were that simple.

GO HERE. You'll be so happy you did. If you're in Turin (or…read moreMilan, or Bergamo,or Parma, or anywhere within a train distance), this is the place you MUST VISIT. The food was blissful. We had the fried fish mixed plate, the house-made ravioli with shrimp, the octopus with potato and it was all so good. As foodie tourists, my husband and I have travelled in most of Italy's big cities (Rome, Florence, Milan, the Lake District) sampling the best restaurants we could find on TripAdvisor, Yelp and the Michelin guide. I can say with certainty that this one, A6 Sciamadda is my number one favorite. Mauro, the chef and owner, delights guests with the flavors of his hometown near the sea. And the wonderful host (I'm sorry I can't spell his name) shares the story of the dish as well as the wine he recommends. This is not simply a meal. It is an experience. You may enter hungry, but you will leave with the happy glow of having spent an hour with a new friend. As travelers, we all know how it is. You search reviews. You look at maps. Over and over, we ask ourselves the same question: Will this be worth it? Worth our time, our money and our travel energy spent to get there. After a quick day-trip to Turin during our Milan vacation, I can promise you that it is totally worth it. In fact, if you begin by eating at A6 Schimada, you may find that, like me and my husband, you change your travel plans and book your next visit to stay here instead.

We found this restaurant through Google Reviews and generally had high hopes, but were blown away by the experience. We ordered salads to share, drinks, and pasta before a tiramisu - I went for a seafood pasta (see pictures) and negroni. We definitely could have avoided getting the two salads; portions were massive and we ended up not finishing either salad. My main course was delicious. The pasta had a zesty, fresh flavor between the lemon, olive oil, parsley and tomato, but the welcome surprise was seeing mounds of mussels, clams and shrimp inside the dish (I'm from New York and expected maybe 10 total) that took me almost 5 minutes to deshell before I went to town on it. Cocktails were excellent - hard to see from the photos but huge and delicious. Resulted in a great midday buzz. Limoncello spritz was also good but perhaps too strong for a lunchtime drink. Other courses ordered: - Lamb ravioli - Had 1-2 bites and tasted good, but probably a 3.5-4. Not really up to my palate and compared to my own entree, hard to beat :) - Carbonara - Solid. Incredibly rich and this was an entree where the large portions actually hurt more than helped - Salads - Hard to tell bc I was full of pasta Minor ding if anything is the ambiance. It's a block or so away from the crazy shore of Como but still was getting a bit loud by the time we left. Not a real complaint and didn't affect our experience, but if you're looking for a more quiet and relaxed experience you might want to go to a less touristy area. Thank you for a lovely meal!

Horrible service and food. Served us rotten food and didn't not exchange our food. Do not recommend.read more
