After a few days of feasting on traditional French fare, my wife and I were looking for something off the beaten path on our last night in Paris. As we ventured towards the exquisite Bois du Boulogne, we stumbled upon Il Cottage.... a very cozy and laid back parlour serving traditional style brick oven pizza, an exquisite selection of pastas, and salads that would make the most organic farmer jealous. Upon arriving we were stunned by the level of warmth & coziness that blanketed the space. Greeted by a wait staff uniformed in khaki overalls, the director of the space (Julian) overheard our American accents and proceeded to provide the most thoughtful and attentive service we had seen all trip (something we were not sure even existed, as many of the French servers at fine dining establishments had been to rude to Les Americains all week!).
The food, atmosphere and waitstaff were all incredible and this was easily our favorite meal of the whole trip. This restaurant will continue to be a must-do on all future Paris trips! read more
