We ordered two different tortellinis one was better than the other. One was the house special and one the chefs special for the day. The chefs special for the day was better. The service can be a little funny but I blame language barriers. Just be nice and smile. Ha! The area closet to the small stage is intimate and perfect for listening to live music. I noticed people who came in just for dessert and others just for wine. Nice to know you have options. I highly recommend paying Osteria Cantina Bentivoglio a visit!

A mix of Italian , American, and Mexican food, with an inside pub. There were 4 German gentlemen drinking beer from a mini keg. Pretty cool. I ordered the Cotoletta alla Bolognese . Fried veal steak with ham[ prosciutto] and cheese. The price was a whopping 13 bucks. Try ordering that here, forget about it. I also ordered what I thought would be a side salad. It was huge and could probably feed 4 people. My wife ordered one of the pasta dishes. We also had a couple of glasses of red wine. Service was great, food was amazing!!! If I was staying more than just a couple of days in Bologna , I would definitely go back.

I ordered the tortellini and my friend ordered a pizza. The pizza arrived in 10 minutes or less. A full hour after the pizza arrived the waitress came over and mentioned that we ordered tortellini, and before I could say "could we just have the check" she walked away and held up a finger behind her back in the "1 minute" sign without even looking back. The tortellini arrived and she set it in front of my dining partner instead of me, and walked away immediately. We had to ask someone else to give us the check. The tortellini wasn't even good. I'm giving this place two stars instead of one because the pizza was really good and all the other staff were all really nice. We just had a really terrible server that ruined the experience.

This has got to be one of the best deals in Bologna! Apertivo is big in Bologna and turns out…read moreApertivo buffets are pretty popular too. We had friends originally from Italy who used to always host us for apertivo-type meals, and we've always enjoyed the concept of plentiful variety, instead of just a main entree. There were a couple of places we saw serving up even a greater variety of food, but we really liked the balance of quality, quantity, and presentation of the setup in Neaera, coupled with its nice quaint outdoor seating area. Pricing was phenomenal! The drink photo I posted equated to about $8 USD, which included the all-you-can-eat buffet. It was about an additional $1USD to add on the buffet as if the drink itself for about $7USD wasn't already a deal. What an absolute steal, especially when compared to what this would cost in San Francisco! Of course, given the bargain-basement price, this is far from high-end food, and I'm pretty sure they're not using fresh homemade artisanal pasta, but definitely a good variety of tasty food. Lots of pasta, fresh veggies, and all tasty. Just don't come expecting meat dishes. At least they weren't serving any meat last night. However, we've gone to similar apertivo buffets in Spain where there were charcuterie and freshly baked chicken being served. What a fun way to have a nice little economical dinner! I've yet to see anything even close to being on par in terms of quantity and quality at similar pricing at any happy hour in the San Francisco Bay Area!!

It seems exclusively at this point to service food tours, which they seem to do well. We walked to the back by many other tables reserved for other groups. Would I venture here outside the tour? Probably not. But definitely serves the purpose for the tours.
