Updates on Ikeas (1 of 2) 3 stars for the 3 words: ormai diventato "mezzoculo" I get sort of irritated when people on here ask me, "Wow, are you in (insert name of interesting place)?" Not everyone writes reviews in tandem with when they visit a restaurant or store because they're busy, or traveling, but the "condition" at this Ikea seems to be sort of a constant, even if I'm writing this at another time. The store continues to get a 4 based on a cursory overview. The restaurant employees upstairs can be a little cavalier, which one can work around, but the reason for this update went unresolved. There are two rectangular tables near power - as opposed to smaller round ones or two tops - further afield in the eating area and next to a wall. One was taken and I was going to take the other one. However, I noticed that the lighting above the table had burned out ... or was possibly switched off. There are relatively few tables of this variety in the eatery upstairs. I went up to the food counter. They didn't seem to care. A maintenance guy came by and I pointed it out to him. He didn't seem to care. On my way out, I stopped by the customer service desk. I explained the situation to them which only required that someone get up on a ladder and install a few new lamps. They mentioned that it would probably be better to do it when customers are not present. I could see with that, but things like this are also done when customers are in stores. We're not talking about preparing to go to the moon. Fast forward a few days. It was not done. I asked about it and the food area employees shrugged. Fast forward a couple of weeks. It was still not done. This can be viewed as petty ... or it can be viewed as a problem. It's definitely not an "opportunity." Here's the deal. When you visit an Ikea store, you buy into a slight adaptation to a given area and region; however, it is not unreasonable to expect adherence to their basic Nordic business model and way of doing things, which means doing things right and doing them in a timely matter. What instead happened is that a customer has had to buy in to a "manana" mentality ... for something that was not even done "manana." (Sorry, the Spanish tilde is not on my main keyboard.) The restaurant gets about 3 stars for their simple food and decent prices. The restaurant employees are definitely at less than 3 stars. - - - - - Mi avete capito, cari? I have not been to an IKEA in ten years, since I moved to Abruzzo. A few months ago this Swedish furniture chain opened up just outside the City of Chieti. Since we will be moving back to L'Aquila soon and will need ideas on how to fill our newly built home there this summer all four of us went. In many ways it's the same as any other Ikea: you have to snake through an upper floor that makes you pass through every section of a typical house (including home office solutions that are work for smaller offices as well. The price to quality ratio is quite good but recently I've seen better at other Italian megastores, like Mondo Convenienza. What makes me love Ikea are the various nicknacks...cups, things for the kitchen, even plants. And the food. Not as much the dining expereince above but the dried bread, the ginger cookies, the sugar cookies, the salmon paste.....yum! read more

Today, We waited 10 hours for the furniture of our children today. We ordered from SAN GIOVANNI TEATINO CHETI This is the WORST IKEA STORE in THE WORLD. WE waited the whole day for our furniture to arrive. No Ordine 880160571. Consequently our children had to sleep in the floor!!!! We spoke in total about 90 minutes about the most stupid IKEA operators in the world and they do not even know where are the furniture. At lunch time they said the truck was broken; but afterwards they said they CANNOT REACH THE TRUCK. How stupid they can be. Apparently THEY LOST THEM. They keep saying that they will call us within 48 hours. TOMORROW WE WILL CALL A LAWYER AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS! read more
