Why you should not buy a kitchen with IKEA
The customer service at IKEA is terrible. Every time you call, you reach a different person that you have to explain the case to again. You can never speak to anyone who takes responsibility and there are mixed messages from each person you talk to. Even when customer service say they will call back, they don't. So you feel powerless. Our problem: IKEA was supposed to deliver our customized kitchen worktop this August (as part of an IKEA kitchen we had already had installed) but we still haven't received it! The worktop weighs 160 KGs and is 3 meters long. IKEA should have realized that this worktop could not be delivered to 3rd floor apartment. It was too heavy and too long. The delivery guys tried twice, second time with a lift but gave up. It was unrealistic from the start. Now IKEA wants us to organize a crane and pay for it. So we have to coordinate it and then contact IKEA about when we have it ready. So IKEA pushes all responsibility on customer when things go wrong. They say, they can deliver, but in reality you are on your own. No help, no empathy, no service. That's IKEA! read more
