Anyone who has a penchant for good, but not obscenely expensive designer goods knows the Finnish Iittala brand. What once was a niche brand best known for its Alvar Aalto vases has in recent years significantly expanded and is now offering not only glass and crockery, but pots as well as cutlery. All, of course, with the a designer prefix.
I won't go into detail about which parts of the Iittala range I like better than others - this is too subjective a topic to give any general recommendations - but rather focus on the experiences I've had at this particular shop.
I'm not exaggerating when I say that I have experienced some of the friendliest and most committed service in this little shop. Yes, it can get a bit busy, as usually it's manned only by one person, but Iittala's isn't a place one should go to to buy something in a hurry. Bring some time with you and I'm certain you'll feel as welcome by the people here, who would go out of their way more than once on my behalf.
Highly recommended! read more
