The location was very dirty and when we were seated the table and floor was DISGUSTING. I looked down under the table and there was napkins on the floor with syrup. I informed the waitress and she said "it's syrup, we've been busy". They could've cleaned that up prior to seating us and there's no telling how many other parties sat there previously with that mess. I received my meal and the eggs were undercooked. I explained this to the waiter and the manager offered a 25% discount. Although my pancake and French toast was decent, the food was terrible, I would not go back to this specific establishment. The latina server doesnt look happy taking our orders. While I watched the table behind us while she's taking an order to a family customer who i presumed hispanic as well cause they're speaking spanish. She's really accommodating and smiling. When we're done the server handed over our bill with just a piece of receipt and no bill booklet. And she asked us if we're gonna pay cash or card. And when we said card she told us we have to pay in the front desk if we'll used card, while I saw her taking the card of the other customer and bill it out by herself. We felt racially discriminated because we're not hispanic so we get less accommodation than the hispanic customer. June 28th 2017 I was on my way home with my mother and decided to stop at I hop for lunch. Upon my arrival I was greeted and seated right away. The booth was very clean as was the silverware and glasses. I ordered the breakfast sampler which was just wonderful and arrived about 14 min after I orders. All my food was hot when it got to my table and was as follows; the scrambled eggs were fluffy buttery and delicious, The ham was well done and came apart very easily, my bacon was crispy and crunchy, The sausage links were hot all the way through and tasted very good, and the hash browns were perfect, they were crunchy on the outside and still had soft fully cooked potato on the inside. The Pancakes came on the side and were fluffy, sweet and delicious. I tried the syrup this time before pouring it on my pancakes as I have found some patrons like to pour salt in the syrup at breakfast establishments. I was happily surprised to find all their syrups were salt free and wonderfully sweet. Our waitress Angie was very nice and checked on us frequently, my glass was never empty. The cost was not bad, for my mother and me it was about 22 dollars for the bill add in tip and its not bad for 2 people and it was a good deal of food for the money to. All and all it was a very pleasant experience and I will be glad to stop there again if I'm back in the area. Food was excellently cooked and portions even seemed larger and heartier than what I'm use to seeing. The vegetables on the mushroom and spinach omelet were super fresh, eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, fluffy pancakes -- everything we ate was cooked to perfection and they were all very flavorful! I am a frequent IHOP patron in other areas (this is actually my first in this location) and so far it's my favorite in terms of food quality. Service was a little slow and food took awhile to get to us considering it was not busy at all, we even worried they might have forgotten about our table, but when it finally got to us food was very hot and fresh. read more

I don't recommend this place at all. I was there with 3 other people and what we ordered, it wasn't all brought to the table. One of the orders wasn't even brought out like it was supposed to be brought out, it had extra stuff on it that wasn't on the menu. Our waters were dirty and the utensils were dirty as well. I have been coming here regularly for many years. The service and food is always great but the building itself has become intolerable. If it is 70+ degrees outside stay away because it will be HOT inside. An employee told me that the air conditioning only works in part of the building and doesn't do much of anything. They informed me that the owners know about the issue but wont fix it. When I was checking they showed me the thermostat and it was set at 50 but the actual temperature was 85. Meanwhile it was only in the upper 70s outside.I There is nothing desirable about sweating while simply sitting there. I feel bad for the employees sweating while running around doing their jobs. I dont k ow how they do it. As I mentioned, I love this place but seriously it is a sauna. It is dissapointing that I can not go there for a good chunk of the year anymore because otherwise this is a 5 star place to eat. I will never spend my money at the IHOP on 2662 Belvedere in waukegan. The manager Rosa is very rude and un professional. I am allergic to onions. They never answer the phone for me to inform them of that. Today I ordered for delivery, no one picked up the phone, I called 6 times. So I was forced to drive there to make them aware of the allergy. I was told to take the order how it was or take nothing at all by Rosa who said she was the manager. I really like IHOP, but this particular Ihop was very difficult to order from thru the ubereats app. First they didn't have an option that either said "special instructions" or even an option to have "gravy on the side". Not everyone likes gravy just dumped on their country fried steak and eggs. So usually would call when I make my order so that I can tell them right away so that those special instructions are on there for my order. I made my order around 9:20 am and called the restaurant 9:23 am, called and called six times, by the seventh time they answered and I try my best to explain the confusion and the lady tells me "Well you should have called right away after I made my uber eats order and that there is nothing they can do because the order is out already and that i need to call uber eats and the ihop hotline number if i need to express everything" I am very confused IHOP on why I needed to be talk to this way, that the lady said there is nothing she can do when there is something she could do because my order wasnt even picked up and yet and she could still change it. Then I get a message from my driver to tell me he was confused on why the lady even told me that my order left already. Steer clear of the thieves at this restaurant! We were there visiting my son who is in the Navy and he wanted breakfast here after we picked him up. Everyone ate and left. About 20 minutes later my son realized he set his Citizen Navi-Hawk watch on the table and left it there (this was a gift from us for graduating bootcamp). I haven't done many reviews but my last visit was so shockingly bad I felt I had to. For many years I have been coming to this IHOP and have never once had any sort of problem. The food has always been great and the service has always been awesome... until now. There is a woman named Alma who is was so intensely I thought she was joking. Besides us there were only 2 tables in the building so it wasnt like things were backed up because it was busy. We were sat down by Alma and we told her that there was one other person joining us but they will be more than a couple minutes so we would like to get some drinks and appetizers in the mean time She said she would be right back and then disappeared for a good 15 minutes. Eventually she came by and just said, "What do you want?" Not the most welcoming greeting. We told her we would like the Appetizer Sampler and a couple sodas. 20 minutes passed with no drinks or food. She came back and asked us again, "What do you want?" We mentioned we had already ordered drinks and appetizer with her and she then told us that we did not. After about 10 minutes she comes back and with the sodas and asked us, "Is the other person coming or what?" We said yes and as she walked away our friend entered and found their way over to us. She quickly came back and got our friends drink order. I inquired about the appetizer and she told us that if we had come together we would be eating it already as if the 45 minutes she had been doing who knows what was our fault. Baffled we just go ahead and order our meals, still no appetizer. 30 more minutes and she started dropping off our food or at least what should have been our food. She brought a burger that no one ordered, some crepes that were the wrong kind and not a combo and finally chicken omelette that should have been a chicken quesadilla. So not a single order was correct. While it was wrong, the food did look good and we just wanted to eat and knew if we changed it for what we actually wanted it would be another hour we would be waiting so we just told her it was fine she said, "Good" and walked away mumbling something under her breathe that I am sure was something insulting. We ate the food, which was good. No complaints in the tasty department. We sat there clearly showing we were finished and sat... and sat... and sat... I don't know how long but at this point we had been there for going on 3 hours and hadn't recieved anything we ordered except the 2 sodas she wouldn't refill. When she did give us the check. I glanced at it and I saw the appetizer and 3rd drink that we never saw still on the check. I started to ask a question about why those were still on the bill but she didn't care to answer. She just gave us a very strange smile and walked away. We stood up and headed towards the register to pay for what we ate. It would be nice to say "pay for what we ordered" but we didnt order anything we recieved. Once again we we stood at the register wanting to pay but yet again this woman was no where to be found. When she did come up she told us the total and held her open hand out. I asked her if she could remove the items she never brought us. She said she can't just give food away and customers need to pay their bills. Again I repeated we never got the items so we were won't pay for them. She said she tried her best and maybe if we arrived at the same time like "normal people" there wouldn't be a problem and then reached behind her amd grabbed the phone and said if we don't pay she will have no choice but to call the police so are we going to pay and held her hand out again. I asked her to split the check into 2 with the soda and appetizer on one and the rest on another. I handed her my credit card and told her it was for the more expensive one. She ran it and gave me a receipt to sign and pointed to the line that had tip that we can easily leave her a tip on the reciept I promptly put a zero and she made an audible noise of disgust and a serious rolling of the eyes. I wrote down my phone number and if her biss has any questions to please call me. Based on her behavior, lack of reasoning, talking to herself and memory of what was happening around her it is clear she has some form of mental disability. Because of this I recognize I am treading the line of picking on someone with with a disability and being justifiably displeased with my visit. So while I have loved this IHOP for years and years, there is no way I could ever return if this woman still works there. It was simply terrible. To anyone that still plans on eating here, my only advice and I hope everyone listen is to ask if Alma is working and if she is ask to be served by anyone, anyone at all instead of her. We came after sending our daughter off to Navy A school after PIR yesterday. Wanted a big breakfast and coffee to soothe our emotions. Selected this place due to location and being an iHop. The host and wait staff are incredibly warm and welcoming. Our waitress was funny but not intrusive, and helped us save money on our orders. The food was solid breakfast fare. The experience I had at this IHOP wasn't the greatest. The food came almost an hour after we ordered and was offended we got served in styrofoam cups and mostly everyone else had clear glasses.
