The foyer is always well decorated and the audio systems in the theatres are very high quality. Staff are friendly enough and they have a range of cafes and bars to get a snack, meal or drink during intermission or before the show. Parking is quite over priced though and the snacks and food can be too, however if you are having a special night out, then that doesn't matter too much. Seating around the place is ample however when it is busy, there is really no where to sit unless you are the first out of the auditorium doors during the break. All in all, there is a good variety of entertainment, a clear floor plan, nice architecture and above all, a vibrant sense of culture to complement the northern district of Adelaide's CBD.

As a born and bred Adelaidean, i feel like my attempt at doing the Adelaide Festival Centre (AFC)…read morefull justice with a review would be like asking a blind person to review the Louvre (no disrespect to blind ppl of course!)...but I'll give it a go. It was a rainy evening typically Adelaide in May. Not cold, but wet nonetheless. We were given tickets to a show and prepaid parking as my parents couldn't make the date. And lucky us. The show was astounding but i will digress from that and focus on the centre itself. Steeped in South Aussie history and local feel, the AFC is a quirky and fascinating venue. So much thought has gone into its design and it shows, from outside and in. I discovered that it now has a couple of bars for pre-show drinks and hosts a well-attended black tie show if you're that way inclined. We saw a well known Adelaide jeweller schmoozing in the foyer before our show and I'm sure plenty of Adelaide celebs get here when they can. To note : the bistro is down next to the new bridge and right on the river but access to it is mostly outdoors (not ideal when it's raining cats n dogs!) The piano bar was exquisite. ..from the ambience to the service and the main pre-show attraction, the food. Well thought out menu and suitably matched wines were a stand out (again, not including the show! ) The theatres themselves are impeccably designed and the visual and sound experience is one you could imagine spending thousands on every night if you had unlimited cash! An amazing experience to be lucky enough to have a night out like this. If you ever get a call offering tickets to the AFC, do not hesitate. Go to woe this place rocks!
